A thoughtfully sourced blend of African and Central American coffees. A dry-processed Ethiopian provides a round, fudge-like sweetness while the Honduran offers a well balanced acidity. Fruit-forward and character driven. Notes: Fudge, wild honey, and red berry.
The aroma of this black honey is dominated by ripe raspberry and tropical fruit. In the cup expect to find a juicy body, balanced acidity, and complex notes of berries and canned pears. Notes: Raspberry, plum, and orange.
It’s impossible to ignore the attention the Guji Zone has earned over the last decade. Sitting southwest of Sidama, adjacent to Yirgacheffe’s famous Gedeo Zone, many of the best coffees in Guji are not coming from cooperatives and passing through Ethiopia’s coop unions. Instead, they make their way through a mature network of private washing stations which pepper the roadways all along southern Ethiopia. By definition these must pass through the ECX, and that’s where this most stunning example from Guji was found. Notes: Floral, stone fruit, and cardamom.
