The kitfo was my favorite, with the beets, tibs, and the wot close behind. The injera was perfect. Soft, tangy, and easily some of the best I have ever had.
The owner and chef are warm, friendly, and genuinely kind. The whole place feels like a family home where you are always welcome. We ordered the 555 Vegetable Biryani, but it was overwhelmingly dominated by a yogurt taste. The yogurt completely overpowered the dish, making it difficult to enjoy any of the other flavors that a biryani should have.
We also ordered the Mushroom Pepper Fry. Compared to the last time we had it, the quality was completely inconsistent. For a dish that costs around $20, the portion size was surprisingly small, almost like a fine-dining tasting portion. More importantly, the mushrooms tasted burnt and bitter, which made the dish quite unpleasant.
The Bullet Naan was another letdown. It was very dry and seemed to have little more than red chili powder sprinkled on top, lacking the flavor and texture we expected.
Overall, the food quality and consistency were far below our previous experience, and unfortunately we were very disappointed with this order."
