However this time I felt the quality of the plantain and rice was lacking. It didn't taste fresh like usual almost like it had been sitting out for a while. My only other complaint is the amount of plantain they give you doesn't feel worth is for $30. You get maybe 4 pieces but an abundance of rice and chicken. Tonight I DoorDashed their $24 Pasta Carbonara with Chicken. Expecting the great food and ample portions I usually get, I was very surprised to find what amounts to less than 1/2 a chicken breast in my meal (reference pic). I searched and searched hoping there was more buried in the pasta, but no luck.
My wife's dish (a breaded chicken dish) included a huge portion of meat - which is the norm. And TBH the pasta (and the chicken I did recieve) tasted great.

"We've wanted to try Salomay for a while. We ordered the 16OZ STRAWBERRY LEMONADE, 16OZ CARAMEL FRAPPE, NUTELLA OR DARK CHOCOLATE, CHICKEN PESTO, and BREAKFAST SPECIAL. By far, the BREAKFAST SPECIAL was our favorite. A slight crunch with the perfect balance of flavor. Least favorite was the CHICKEN PESTO. The chicken was unseasoned and beyond bland. Unfortunately, the other ingredients didn't add much. If it's me, I'd pass on that in the future. The 16OZ STRAWBERRY LEMONADE was sweet but not overtly so. Great balance. The frappe was delicious. I'd ask them to tone down the sweetness on futures orders but great overall. Our next order, a platter of BREAKFAST SPECIALs along with 16OZ CARAMEL FRAPPEs. Then we'll add in a couple new items for tasting. If you're on the fence, don't be! Try this place and grab 2-4 items for sharing. We have so much left over so the portions were nice as well."

It was incredible, and the meat was so tender and flavorful, it also comes with fries BTW. the Classic hot dog was absolutely delicious, with soft plushy bread and excellent quality beef hotdogs. they were sold out of the Cachapa . But the store contacted me to ask what I wanted to substitute it with and I choose the side of Plantains and the ONIBAC hot dog with the bacon jam. and when i tell you .. ..it was one of the best hot dogs I've had in Texas! (I'm a born and raised new yorker, so that's absolutely saying something) it was freaking incredible! and do NOT order without getting a side of their GARLIC AND CORN SAUCE.
