I didn't taste any specific spices or seasonings; just a bunch of salt and meat base/bouillon. Pork chop itself was fine. It was cooked through but not too tough. I wasn't impressed with the cornbread. Instead of a slice of buttery cornbread with delicate and moist crumbs with a hint of sweetness I received 2 chewy and dry corn muffins that I suspect were made from box mix. The Macaroni & Cheese was also a letdown because I was expecting some ooey-gooey buttery melted cheese blend baked into some macaroni. What I got was more like the stovetop variety made from a box mix, which isn't terrible but I expected higher standards for one of only a handful of soul food restaurants in all of San Antonio. The collard greens needed another hour of cooking because it was a little tender but still too fibrous, and the little prickly stems were annoying. It was also lacking the smoky and salty flavor of ham hocks or smoked turkey. I didn't get a single small morsel of meat. The yams were well-spiced, saucy, tender and buttery but too sweet. $3 for a small cup of Grape Kool-Aid was a small disappointment as well because although it wasn't watered-down or diluted, it was too sweet as well. I grew up eating soul food, and I'm sad to say that I did not feel the love and soul in this food. This place is across town from me, and I'm not compelled to rave about it to my family. I wish I could though."

"This is my favorite place to order food. The order is always correct and my food is hot and the ice cream frozen I highly recommend the chicken fried steak which is battered and not breaded. "I was really disappointed with my experience at Willie's Grill & Icehouse. The food arrived cold, which already set the tone for the meal. The Chicken Tenders were extremely thin and dry, almost like they had been sitting out for a while. The Bacon Willie Burger was also underwhelming, it had maybe five tiny chopped pieces of bacon on it, which barely counted as a topping.
To make things worse, the Peach Cobbler was somehow watered down and just plain gross. I’ve never had cobbler with that kind of texture before.
For the price they charge, the quality just isn’t there. The portions and preparation simply don’t match what you’re paying for. Overall, the food felt overpriced and not worth what was received.
Honestly, you’d probably have better luck saving your money and getting a more satisfying meal at Dairy Queen."

Either way, will 100% be ordering from Quick Wok again. Such an unassuming, hole-in-the-wall looking place but with incredibly good food. Always the case...you see a place and think "IDK about them, how good could the food be...?" and then BOOM they blow you away with the quality of their food.
