2-20-24: Decided to order from a different sandwich spot other than my usual place (Mr Pickles). I decided on Erik’s Deli Cafe which is close proximity to Mr Pickles. They are different in some ways but similar in other ways. Just like Mr Pickles, Erik’s Deli Cafe also offers a 20% discount on their order. Today I ordered the Square Meal combo which comes with a full sandwich and a cup of soup. In addition I ordered the Potato Salad, Bag of chips, and can of Coke. Total with a $5.00 discount was $37.14 definitely higher price than Mr Pickles
The Pilgrim: Appearance looks good and prepared with care and not sloppily made. Ingredients were portioned just right not too much and not stingy with ingredients. The bread was swirl rye bread and it was nice and soft and fresh, held up and wasn’t soggy even with all the ingredients placed on it. Taste was very good and would definitely order this particular sandwich again.
Potato Salad: Cost wise it’s a lot more than Mr Pickles and it’s smaller in size {$6.99 vs $3.49} and THE SANDWICH SPOT offers a 1 pint potato salad for only $4.49. The potato salad has nice cut up pieces of potato BUT IT WAS SPOILED! Didn’t eat just tossed in GARBAGE! This was for a regular size as they also offer a Large Size for a few dollars more.

I don't know if the preparer thought it would be funny but they added WAY too much pesto (I'm talking 1/4+ inches thick) to the sandwich. Not only was it super thick, it also pushed out the sides and was all over outer bread and wrapper making it very difficult to eat, not to mention having to scrape a ton of pesto off to make it edible. "I've been really wanting scrambled eggs, but the 3 times I've ordered them from here they've been wildly inconsistent. First: little flakes of hard scrambled eggs; Second: 3 large balls of hard scrambled egg clumps; Third: plain omelet that was still runny, that I had to cook some more before I could eat it. I like well-cooked eggs, so I wish they'd put an option for if you like hard-cooked or soft-cooked scrambled eggs (or other styles). I also prefer scrambled eggs to be clumpy and not smooth omelet style. If I wanted an omelet, I'd order an omelet. The first Matcha Green Latte I ordered from here was very fresh tasting. But this time it was very normal tasting and in a small cup--it's not worth the high price. The Kashmiri Pink Chai came topped with pistachios this time, and was very comforting but lukewarm and didn't have a stopper in the top, so it spilled a bit. Still love their Potatoes, but each order can be different (some have a LOT of scraggly bits, which I like, but not a whole box of them, and others are mostly larger potatoes), so it helps that I order a couple orders and can eat some now and save some for later. 2-23-24: I’ve been trying different sandwich shops (Mr Pickles, and Erik’s Deli), today I will try THE SANDWICH SPOT. I’ve placed many orders with Mr Pickles {over 20 times since 1-17-24}, and once with Erik’s Deli. All three of these locations are close proximity to each other and I’ve written reviews for both Mr Pickles and Erik’s Deli and posted on Door Dash. All three shops have similar items and some differences. The most recent establishment I tried and left a review for was Erik’s Deli Cafe on 2-20-24
This is my first time ordering from The Sandwich spot.Today I ordered #16 The Shark Tank {Hot Turkey, avocado, bacon, bomb sauce,and cream cheese} on Swirl Rye with Mayo, Lettuce, Tomato, Mustard, Onions. In addition to the sandwich I ordered the Potato Salad, and a bag of chips. Unlike Mr Pickles or Erik’s Deli, there isn’t any discount offered for their sandwich order. My first time ordering from The Sandwich Spot and total for my order was $ 31.00 which is slightly higher than the other two places for the same amount of items. Mr Pickles has a similar sandwich called the Julie Bird ($16.59) which I’ve tried and is really good it was my first time ordering from them on 1-17-24 and I was happy with them and have ordered over 20 times already. Erik’s Deli cafe similar sandwich The Pilgrim ($20.18).
#16 Shark Tank: Let me start by saying cream cheese on a sandwich is so good :) . Not a lot of meat on the sandwich, almost more filler ingredients than the meat : ( Rye bread taste good and is soft and fresh but I’m not ordering the bread alone. Sandwich was wrapped beautifully nicely done and wrapped with foil and paper.
Potato Salad (1 Pint): Larger size than Mr Pickles potato salad and price comparison is a much better deal for not much more money ($4.49 vs $3.49) you get a 1/2 pint more for $1.00 more when ordering from The Sandwich Spot : ).Looking at the packaging it doesn’t appear to be larger, appears to be same size.Nice flavors and nice pieces of potato.Erik’s Deli Cafe sells theirs for $6.99 for a Regular and $8.49 for a Large. The regular at Erik’s Deli Cafe is smaller than the Potato Salad at Mr Pickles. Prepared previously with an expire date label 2/27.
Over all review of The Sandwich spot is that the sandwiches are good and made pretty well, potato salad is a GREAT DEAL, the price is a little bit higher than Mr Pickles for ordering same/similar order, and definitely better value and price comparison than Erik’s Deli Cafe. I will try several more orders as they have a pretty good size menu
