The carnitas mini tacos were phenomenal. They were seasoned well slightly moist. Their homemade salsa brought them fully to life.
The birria mini tacos were good, but the roast beef was a little dry for my liking. The consomme' adds the moisture back to the beef, but I wish the birria was a bit thicker.

"I was disappointed in this last order. It was definitely not the quality I am used to from Pei Wei. The beef was over cooked and dry, some pieces were crunchy. Very little broccoli. There was almost no sauce. Normally I like to have the steamed rice soak up the extra sauce - but with very little sauce, that couldn't happen. The taste wasn't what it normally is either. Don't know if they have a new chef, have changed recipes, or was simply having a bad day. Plus the fortune cookie was very stale - not only did it taste stale, there was no crunch to the cookie. The beef crunched but the cookie didn't.
I've had much better from Pei Wei so I will try them again in the future."

"First time ever trying Philipino food and it was absolutey phenomenal! I got the Combo #2 - Chicken Adobo, Lumpia rolls, Pansit noodles and rice (The Philipine's national dish).
You get a perfect portion size of food for a great price, I was even able to save some for later, and most importantly is the taste. The main dish was savory with a hint of sweetness to it that paired nicely with the impeccably cooked white rice. The lumpias were delicious as well, and even better with the sweet & sour dipping sauce. They're very similar to an egg roll but thinner, crispier and have a more flavorful filling .
It's great to find diverse cuisine in San Antonio. l'll definitely be ordering again and will have to get my friends give it a try too.
*For general reference, it's a like mix between Hawaiian food and Chinese food. The flavor is bright and vibrant with special flare to it.
