The zucchini I paid $2 to add was maybe 4 hearty pieces. NBD but was hoping for more brocc & zucc. It's right there in the name! It was also packaged in the absolute worst possible container for a saucy dish - one of those flip-top styrofoam containers like you'd put a sandwich & fries in. Now, I've been a restaurant manager and I know you gotta keep costs down, and when you do a lot of takeout business those containers add up. But this was bad - more than half the sauce spilled out and was in the bottom of the bag. Egg rolls were soaked. Gotta do better on the packaging (yes the doordash person could have handled more carefully, but packaging food properly starts with the restaurant).
Now for the GOOD! The entree was a massive portion. I mean colossal. While they might be saving on takeout containers, they are def not scrimping on ingredients. Tons of nice-quality beef. The sauce was tasty and the spice level was on point - asked for level 3 and it was just a hint of heat. Perfect. Sauce was surprisingly sweet but I added a dash of Maggi seasoning for umami and then it was great.
Pork Egg Roll (1) was clearly handmade, not one of those mass produced frozen jobs. Stuffed with pork & cabbage, seasoned really deliciously. Big Bertha Egg Roll (1) is indeed a big girl, and super tasty.
Will absolutely order again, excited to try different menu items! Love that we have a fun alternative to the typical Americanized Chinese spots. "
