"Saffron Mediterranean Grill is hands down some of the best Mediterranean food I’ve ever had and I’ve had plenty! We tried the lamb and chicken kabobs, and they were absolutely out of this world. The proteins were cooked to perfection- juicy, tender, and packed with flavor. The rice was fluffy and seasoned beautifully, and the salad was topped with rich spices that created a flavor explosion in every bite. And the hummus? Simply amazing! Creamy, smooth, and perfectly balanced. This was easily one of the best meals I’ve had in Long Beach. On top of the incredible food, it’s family-owned, which makes supporting them even more meaningful. If you’re in the area, do yourself a favor and try it- you will not be disappointed!"

"I have ordered the chicken shawarma sandwich and the beef shawarma sandwich, both on pita. Both were INCREDIBLE (chicken was my favorite)!! Super flavorful, lots of meat + other fillings but still well balanced, and the portions are fantastic. You definitely get your money's worth. I think about that chicken sandwich all the time, it was so damn good. And such a good price for what you get. I also recommend getting the side order of fries and a drink, as it's cheaper than getting the fries by itself + the portion of fries is pretty big. The sauces on the side were also so delicious (that garlic sauce is SO garlicky and yummy, + the tzatziki and chili sauce are also bomb. The tahini was good but not as flavorful as the other sauces. I don't wanna give them any ideas but I can't believe they let you get them for free, all 3 of them!!! tzatziki is an extra dollar but I think it's worth it). I crave this place ALL THE TIME. "Never thought I would leave Open Sesame a bad review but I have to in this case. We ordered Tabouleh Salad, Baba Ghannouj, Kibbi, Hummus and Chicken Tawook 8 pc. Everything tasted good but this was the most expensive Mediterranean restaurant we've ordered food from and it had the smallest portions. Kibbi was small compared to other places. The hummus could not have been more than 6 oz and same goes for the Tabouleh (with pita bread it was $21.55). They also forgot to give us the Baba Ghannouj. Won't be ordering DD from them anymore, unfortunately. Our local place is just as good (with the exception of the hummus) with larger portions and a little bit cheaper. "

However, the laffa was great and the ingredients were fresh. I also got the Side Falafel which came with 4 pieces and sauce. Again, these were lacking in flavor and we wish we had more sauce to drench them in. And maybe a bit over-fried for my liking. The french fries were probably the best part - so good! "Mix Grill Combo Plate a weird or "unique" taste which I don't like. I can't identify the specific seasoning but it's not appetizing (to me). Also, the order of Extra Pita Bread is just one whole pita bread cut into 4 slices. Every other Mediterranean restaurant I've gone to will give 3-5 whole pita breads with each extra order. The staff is friendly and kind and the food portions are amazing except the amount of pita bread that comes WITH the order which is only one whole cut into 4 slices."
