"The chicken breast was cooked and seasoned amazing, but the amount of brown wilted lettuce at a time when lettuce is liable to give you a bad stomach sickness is not okay. "3pc Meal The chicken was overcooked and dry. Was very disappointing, but it's kind of hit or miss with them on getting either overcooked chicken or perfectly cooked delicious chicken. But the macaroni and cheese was good. Very creamy and cheesy. I haven't tried the Chicken Taco al Carbon yet. But I'm assuming the chicken is overcooked and dry. It was not what I would have spent my money on if I'd known better and went elsewhere for the grilled chicken I was craving."

"This place is the best mexican food in town, easily hands down the best tasting food. I get my asada well done in my burrito and it is always super duper fire. I believe they use really really thin sliced milanesa for their asada and it really shows. such a fat Burrito for the price too. the salsa roja is insane. "
"This Torta was as always, the freshest, tastiest & perfectly portioned torta!! I would definitely order again, because the quality is so consistent that ordering anywhere else would be impossible. I've tried tortas from competitors & it's never came close to LaVillas Tortas!! If you're wondering if it's worth the money, I highly recommend this Carne Asada Torta, you'll never regret buying it. I was happily surprised with Taco Joe's. They made my order exactly how I requested, and the food was very good. I had a Carne Asada burrito with cheese, no rice, and it was huge! I couldn't eat it all, but it was great and up to my standards of being picky. I also had sides of rice and beans and requested cheese in the beans, which they did exactly as requested.

"Im going to rate this location a 9.275 ! Every bite of Carne Asada Steak Fries had steak fully loaded ! The Epic Combo Beef & Bean Burrito was Huge ! Exceeded my expectations! Every sauce ordered was delivered ! Great job guys"
"The fries were hard, tasteless and resembled popsicle sticks. Hard to believe that they actually sell this to the public.
The drink was so loaded with ice by the time it got to me it was very watery and you coud not taste the strawberry or lemonade.
The bean burrito was decent but overall it was a waste of $21 for a small bean burrito, a small drink and day old chili fries "

"I've been coming here since moving to Bakersfield. It's my favorite and go to place for the delicious food. I love the theme of the restaurant. It's always a comfortable experience and the staff is always welcoming and hospitable. I usually order their Tri tip burrito or sandwich and it never disappoints. My family will choose the bartered cod and they love it. Let's not forget their clam chowder which is some of the best in Bakersfield. Overall this is the best place to eat as I always visit during my birthday."

"the food was amazing! I wish I wouldn't have asked for some Verde salsa cuz I think that woulda sent it over the top. I also didn't know if came with chips and salsa and the salsa wasn't spicy but still good! also the meat in the Chimichangas wasn't dry at all and very flavorful! I will definitely get this again but with a salsa to put on it!"
"Their menudo is so delicious! Definitely tastes homemade and the portions are worth the price! They do read the special requests, so if you ask for a side of tortillas, they'll include it. They also include an individual chips and salsa in the meal, so you don't have to order a side of it. I would absolutely order this again!"

"This was actually pretty good. I have not been impressed with the barbecue in this area except for one other, but I felt like something different. "Probably the best mashed potatoes, green beans and Wood-Grilled Asparagus. Wood-Grilled Chicken was good, nothing spectacular but still yummy."
"I used to frequent Tahoe Joe's for great food but in the last year or so, it's been lacking in quality. I ordered a Whiskey Peppercorn Sirloin for my father, which was not what it used to be. The steak was different, tough(even though I asked for it medium well done), and the sauce was gelatinous. I also ordered Jackpot Nachos, the steak was also tough, and the salsa was bad? The lid of the salsa container had domed, there was fermentation bubles, and smelled bad. Very unfortunate, especially as the prices have gone up."

"The pupusas are always excellent! The Pan Con Pollo / Chicken with Bread was meh. One of the qualms I have is I feel like they don't give you enough curtido for the Pupusa de Harina de Maíz . The Horchata / Rice Drink is Salvadorean style (which I prefer) and is different from Mexican style."
