"I used to really enjoy ordering from Brooklyn Suya, but something has definitely changed recently, and not for the better.
They have updated the menu, and while the food is still good, it is frustrating how much customization has been removed. You used to be able to mix two types of meat or add extra protein to your bowl, but that is no longer an option. The avocado add-on also changed. It used to be a half avocado for $1, but now it is just a quarter, which feels stingy.
I have also had a few orders where they put in plantain instead of avocado, and you never know if you will actually get the peanut aioli or sweet sauce anymore since the “sauce on the side” option is gone.
That said, the ingredients are still really fresh, and the flavor is just as good as it always has been. Despite the annoyance of the changed DoorDash menu and limitations...
It just feels like I am now limited with the options I once enjoyed, and that makes it hard to order again. I know it will not be the same as it once was."
