"I've been ordering at Life Bistro for a few months now. I love this restaurant. I feel their menu is closer to alkaline lifestyle with really mushrooms. For some reason when I order at night the store never completes my Fried Portobello Basket order. I only get the mushroom in a small box. But I still order because Mushrooms are my Meat. I don't eat fish, tuna, lobster, chicken, rice or no meat period. This morning I called Life Bistro to see if maybe I was placing the wrong order. Chai let me know that my order does come with fries. I explained to her what was going on every night when I ordered between 8:00pm-8:30pm. I spoke to the Manager and he apologized about everything and told me how to get a refund. Today when I received my order I noticed the bag was very heavy. The Manager gave me two beautiful Fried Portobello Basket. Both had fries. Now this is immaculate Customer Service! Now I can Box and train at night and come home to get a nice healthy meal with no Meat. Thank you!"

With my husband away at a meeting on Juneteenth, I had a hankering for African cuisine, and I have been meaning to try Embilta for years. I ordered via DoorDash for carry-out Chicken Tibs, sauteed, bite-sized pieces of chicken with onions, garlic, tomatoes, and jalapeños; Kikil, tender, braised lamb with garlic; and a Sambusa, a triangular-shaped pastry filled with lentils, onions, and jalapeños. The cafe is modest in size and furnishings, but it felt like I was walking into my grandmother’s kitchen. I was greeted warmly by the owner, the mouthwatering fragrance of authentic cooking, and Ethiopian music playing in the background. I knew that the food would be delicious as soon as I walked past the first table. The tibs and kikil were served with the best injera I have experienced—it was so light and cushiony and was the perfect vessel for the chicken and lamb (although I also enjoyed the injera by itself). I thoroughly enjoyed the flavorful tibs, served with delicious chickpeas. My sambusa was crispy and savory, and I wish I had ordered another (note: they are on the greasy side). I am already planning on tackling the Veggie Special for my visit, a smorgasbord of split lentils, yellow peas, greens, cabbage, and chickpeas.
