The real thing used to be made Nothing out of a can or cake mix! All natural ingredients! Nowadays what you get are shortcuts of the original formula, ie...vegetable oil insteadof real butter, soy milk instead of whole milk, vanilla extract instead of the real vanilla beans in addition to the exteact, fruit marmalade from a can instead of making real homemade fruit marmalade from scratch, fondant icing instead of making the whipped merengue .
