"Thumbs down is harsh but this was a big disappointment from an LA classic. I had tried the G. Big Mamma Special decades back and either I had a less educated palette back then or they've cheapest out on it. With the cheesey eggs, I remember more actual cheese than what tastes like the same sauce they probably use on Mac and Cheese and one that other soul food restaurants here do better. The biscuit, however, was nice and fluffy, not the hockey puck so many places try to pass off.
The gravy actually had potatoes in it, not a bad thing at all. It's fine I guess but I only had a few bites."

"I had the fried fish dinner (4) FRIED FISH with collard greens and candied yams, plus the PEACH COBBLER. The food arrived nice and hot, which is a plus and the portions were healthy. The fish was cooked well and well-seasoned, although tbh the seasoning profile wasn’t quite my cup of tea, but overall it was good and I did like it. The candied yams were delicious. The collard greens were fresh (not canned or frozen), but the flavor for me was lacking. When I added the hot sauce, it was better. The meal also came with 2 cornbread muffins which were nice. As for the peach cobbler, I’m sorry, but that was a miss. First, it was inside an 8oz plastic deli container—certainly not the portion of an $8+ desert IMO. Next, the glaze flavor was unbalanced in that I mostly tasted nutmeg but not much of anything else. I don’t know if they relied on the cling peaches syrup for support, but it just didn’t work. Lastly, and perhaps the worst offense for me, is because it was in a deli container, the crust pieces were all wet and soggy. Having said all that, I am willing to try their other dishes. (BTW DoorDash, I had to type this on my laptop, email it to myself, and cut/paste it into your tiny iPhone app window on iPhone which still only shows a single line when typing reviews. Again, please fix that window. And I did that because your laptop app doesn’t allow you to upload photos)."
