However the quality of the finished product has fallen off. I notice now they are largely using much smaller chicken tenders instead of breast fillets they used to use in their rolls and burgers. Even when I buy them from the store the bacon has little flavour and is at best lightly cooked and the burgers are often only lukewarm. The rolls aren't as crisp as they were. The chips are however still excellent . I'd be happier to pay more for a better quality product like they used to have. They used to be iconic!"

"Worst sushi place I've tried, and I have lots of sushi. Portions have gotten so much smaller than before, and orders look nothing like the pictures advertised. Do yourself a favour and order from a different Ichiban, the one in West Village is much better for the same prices. I ordered the Tuna and Avocado Medium Roll, where the tuna was more grey, smelled off and and tuna had more diced carrot bits than actual tuna! Rolls were also the same size as the mini rolls, so disappointed and tasted gross. I also had the Salmon Onion Nigiri, where the salmon pieces were incredibly thin, as thin as store bought smoked salmon slices. Also incredibly disappointing. Finally the Salmon and Avocado Medium Roll, where the salmon was only the fatty edge pieces in very small portions, smelled old and also much greyer than normal salmon sashimi. This store used to be much better, but now the boxes are more flimsy, chopsticks are smaller and thinner and less condiments are provided. Not worth it."

"Shizen's Chicken or Pork Katsu are one of the best ive had. Been having it 5 times and the consistency is good albeit with some changes. The katsu cooked perfectly, with a batter/coating thats nice, simple and isn't complicated. They include you miso and rice. You cant mess up miso and rice which they dont. Sauces are pretty good, however the side stuff does change. I went from shaved vegetables to a salad which i personally dont like. Give them a try. They're pretty solid and quick."
