"I've been a vegetarian my entire life and was excited to order from Parakeet, but the food and service was submarginal, at best. I ordered 2 meals to have something for dinner tomorrow night and a bunch of desserts and the hummus to share when I visit my son tomorrow. First, I ordered the Breakfast Sandwich, but received the chicken burger instead. This went right to the garbage as I don't eat chicken. I couldn't even eat the potatoes as theybwere in the same box as the chicken and juice from the chicken may have flowed onto the fries. The other meal, the Chilaquiles was not very good. The chips were completely soggy. I had ordered the eggs over-easy, but the yolks were cooked through. I paid (quite a bit) extra to add beans, but there were hardly any present - I'd estimate less than 1/4 cup.
Since the two meals were inedible, I decided to eat the Hummus & Bread as a meal, but ended up not being able to eat it because it was spicy! I have eaten a lot of hummus in my life and it is NEVER spicy (unless labeled as such). This hummus burnt my tongue. Since spicy food unfortunately gives me heartburn, I was left with just the sourdough bread that came with it. Thankfully I had a few slices of cheese in the fridge for dinner
