The wasabi is fresh and legitimate, not the "wasabi" one often sees in higher volume environments. I've had a lot of sushi, sashimi, nagiri, etc. in my life, and this was top 10%--which is saying a lot for an East coaster who has also lived in California and Hawai'i.
