"Second time ordering. First time I had the jerked chicken, second time Jerked Ribs, and Mac both times. I've been cooking one way or another for 20 years professionally, and I want to say: They're doing it right. The seasoning of everything is on point, and every item I had was satisfying to eat. The proteins were cooked just right and the food quality seemed great too. A lot of the time it feels like only the proteins get attention in some places, but each of the sides I've had (cabbage/rice and beans/plantains) can easily stand on their own, and compliment eachother perfectly
I think some people expect the entrées to come out smothered in an excess of sauce and spice - and while that can be a fun eating experience, I appreciate that the food feels healthy and intentional in it's seasoning.

" The portions are always GENEROUS no matter what size platter I get or how many times I order. I always get oxtails&jerk chicken. All the sides are delicious my favorite is greens I get xtra they got the BEST- Smokey savory flavor but just a little sweet at the end sooo goood!!! "Plátano frito as dessert. Not what I expected or thought. Impressed and reminded how something simple is tastier than something complex. Kudos to y'all, I was reminded of my childhood.
Chilaquiles with steak. Steak was very good, salsa verde was very flavorful, no where near as spicy as I'd hope but still tasty. Chilaquiles are meant to be crunchy even when after drenched in salsa by a reasonable margin, I'm not sure why, but they were more soggy than I expected even from a delivery take out.
The huarache base was made by hand as described, they did unfortunately skimped out on the quantity of pastor on it, but not by a lot. Maybe it's their style here? Could use a bit of balancing, does not feel like much of an in house seasoning (pastor), but I could be wrong. I still ate all of it. No food should be wasted.
Horchata and Jamaica water (at least this batch) were very well balanced not overly sweet that gives that weird aftertaste.
This review is done by a Mexican who was actually born and raised there, I'm a modest food connoisseur & critic as well. (Just not profoundly professional)

I wish I hadn't discovered the chimichanga with cheese sauce because it is addictive. The street corn serving was about a third of a cup. They aren't saving money on expensive ingredients... we are talking corn and a bit of cheese.
I was annoyed by the corn but quickly forgot that offense when I opened the container of tortilla soup and found that was also about a third of a cup. Maybe they are sizing the takeout orders with an ice cream scoop? There was virtually no broth. See pictures, in each case that's with just a couple of bites taken. Prison rations are likely more generous.
Finally, the tacos were weak. A bit better than Taco Bell maybe (close call), but literally worse than any other Mexican restaurant within delivery distance.
Wow, this place is bad. We've gone there for years because it's convenient to our house and the food has always been at least ok, albeit never great. But the quality has fallen off a cliff. Total ripoff. "
