"Oh my goodness, this was delicious!! I really wanted to try the goat curry but couldn't justify the cost, even with a coupon, but the Curry Chicken was fantastic and the tastiest Caribbean food I've had yet in Seattle (which is saying something because it's tied for my favorite cuisine, and I think I've tried every Caribbean/Cuban restaurant). It was spicy, but not too spicy - just right. I can't even really describe what made it so flavorful. I do wish it came with a bit more meat, and perhaps a maduro, given the price. "Absolutely the "go-to" spot (the other Mr G locations as well) for middle -East menus in Seattle. A clean well-lighted place with a fresh and aromatic take on our faves: shawarma, gyros, falafel, kebab.
On the side the tzatziki and hummus are tangy and very fresh. The pita is always today's and is in a sweet spot between earthy/grain-ey and chewy, picking up the mix of flavors in the sandwich (plates are great too but I always end up making little sandwiches so good to order the extra pita or two).
Altogether delicious and (if your eyes aren't TOO much bigger than your stomach!) filling but not something you need to take a nap after. There's a lot of hype out there about restaurants but this one is sure fire. Most highly recommended. And the Arsheed brothers have been feeding Seattle eastern-Mediterranean cuisine (breakfast/brunch also in Greenwood) for over 20 years to high acclaim and reviews far beyond the borders of our fair city. "I lived in Osh, Kyrgyzstan for 2+ years, and this place is the REAL DEAL; it's more than authentic; it literally tastes like home in the best way. Not only are the dishes all excellent in their own right, but they also have curated a great selection of some of the less well-known dishes. Those new to the cuisine should try plov and manty (dumplings) first, and the samsas are always great as well. The Olivier and Suzma were nice touches of freshness that I appreciated -- can actually have the Olivier by itself as a meal next time because the portion was quite sizable. The food was great, and the serving sizes were generous. I think even one focaccia sandwich could easily be split between two people, but it’s great that they’re packaged individually. Everything was fantastically packaged and labeled. It was so easy to tell which sandwich was which and quickly find the sides and drinks thanks to the clear packaging and labeling.
