"This was one of the most delicious and well rounded meals I've had in a while. The lentil soup is flavorful and comforting. The lamb shank is so tender it melts in your mouth. They give you a side of the braising liquid to pour over or dip into, which is a nice touch. And I always love the roasted veggies on the veggie plate. The baba is delicious and I can never get enough of their rice! I don't know how they do it but it's always on point. This is enough for 2-3 meals for me which makes it a good value, as well. "I've been in a love/hate relationship with this restaurant and its ghost kitchens since 2020. there were times in the past where the food went from really good to inedable. the last half dozen times, however, they have been great. the Spinach (saag paneer) was fantastically flavored and had a good amount of paneer. The Vegetable Samosas were golden crispy on the outside and nicely warmed on the inside. Everything arrived hot and fresh. I also recommend the cauliflower and potato dish (aloo gobi). I walked in the first time we picked it up it, and the food smell instantly hit my nose bringing me back to my grandpas house. The staff were typical Persian and the food came packaged in those big tin trays. I knew it was about to hit, but wasn't expecting it to be one of the best tasting persian places I've had. Lately meat quality has gone down when getting meals out, but Persepolis's meat quality was 10/10. It was so tender, juicy, and filled with flavor and spices. "Absolutely the "go-to" spot (the other Mr G locations as well) for middle -East menus in Seattle. A clean well-lighted place with a fresh and aromatic take on our faves: shawarma, gyros, falafel, kebab.
On the side the tzatziki and hummus are tangy and very fresh. The pita is always today's and is in a sweet spot between earthy/grain-ey and chewy, picking up the mix of flavors in the sandwich (plates are great too but I always end up making little sandwiches so good to order the extra pita or two).
Altogether delicious and (if your eyes aren't TOO much bigger than your stomach!) filling but not something you need to take a nap after. There's a lot of hype out there about restaurants but this one is sure fire. Most highly recommended. And the Arsheed brothers have been feeding Seattle eastern-Mediterranean cuisine (breakfast/brunch also in Greenwood) for over 20 years to high acclaim and reviews far beyond the borders of our fair city. "Aviv is my favorite place for lunch or a casual dinner. Not only are the staff friendly in person but the orders I've gotten through doordash have never been disappointing. They never miss a detail and everything is well packaged, well handled, and timely. Their sabich is my favorite and takes me home. I avoid gluten and I still risk it all for this sandwich. It's unbelivable. Also the cheeps are always fresh and well seasoned and I admit I ordered it three times in one week. The ICE-KAFEH is on another level. Again, im also lactose intolerant but this doesnt stop me. I swear I can run a marathon upon drinking this stuff (after a thirty minute nap from the sabich and cheeps). If you're looking for authentic, fresh bites look no further. This feels like eating from my grandmother's kitchen."
