"So I'll start with the good. their fried rice is very good, as well as the egg rolls. With that said this kung pao chicken, was a Kung pow disaster in my book. The only vegetables were carrots and celery, oh and 3 pieces, yes I counted , of green pepper, and some peanuts were thrown on top. okay I can handle that, what bothered me the most is the chicken itself. It is tiny little deep fried morsels of chicken. but it's not even like a real bite of chicken it's more breading than anything. There were only a few that would equate to popcorn chicken size.
And I don't know what spices they use, if any, but to me all it tasted like was that it was doused in hot sauce and not a very good hot sauce at that. I've had there general's chicken and it was good, so I'm hoping this is just an isolated incident."

"Chicken biryani was much spicier than expected, with no mention of spice level on the menu. For $17, the portion was overwhelmingly rice-heavy, with only 2 drumsticks and a very small piece of breast, which felt like poor value. The rice was also noticeably oily.
The overall experience was made worse by poor communication. When I called the listed number, there was no introduction of the business, and I had to say hello multiple times before getting a response.
On top of that, the order had to be reassigned after a driver left without the food, which added to the confusion and delay. While that may not be entirely on the restaurant, it reflects a lack of coordination.
Even small details were disappointing—the utensils provided were extremely small and impractical.
Overall, this was a frustrating experience from start to finish. Between the lack of clarity, poor value, and communication issues, I would not order again—especially with better halal options in the area."

"Absolutely loved the food here! Food was hot when I picked it up. Portion was very good. I got the shrimp and whiting platter with cabbage and yams. Additionally, I got the yellow rice, corn bread and banana pudding. The seafood was well seasoned, not greasy, not dry, not over breaded. The jumbo shrimp was a plus for me-also well seasoned and lightly breaded. The platter came with 4 jumbo shrimp, 3-4 pieces of whiting. The yams were sweet and not overly sweet, not extra saucy which is another plus because most places that serve yams I've had, give you more sauce than yams. The cabbage was definitely steamed, with a bit of crunch to it which is great for gut health. Corn bread was excellent! Soft, moist and buttery, melt in your mouth! Yellow rice was not dry, not burned, and lightly seasoned. They gave a large portion of banana pudding which was even better! Fresh sweet bananas inside with Nilla wafers, very creamy. Everything was Perfectly made! Highly recommend to everyone."

"I’m just not really sure what gourmet about this place. I find the food to be mediocre at best, and the prices are absolutely astronomical for what you were given. People rave about the chicken lettuce wraps, and I agree that it was the best thing that I received. But it’s basically just moo shu chicken with a bunch of iceberg lettuce on the side (and the lettuce is not even cleaned well; I had to rinse them in the sink to get dirt off). I also got BBQ spare ribs which had very little meat on them. It was not worth the money and very hard to gnaw the measly portion off the bones.
I ordered shrimp lo mein thinking that the shrimp would be of higher quality than the typical Chinese takeout place, but the shrimp were extremely overcooked and too tough to chew, so I ended up not eating the shrimp. On top of that, there wasn’t a vegetable in sight. I’m used to seeing green onions, mushrooms, and the occasional piece of broccoli or carrot in lo mein, and this was just noodles with impossible to eat shrimp.
The last thing I got was chicken with broccoli which was mediocre at best. The pieces of chicken were admittedly gigantic (3+ bites per piece) and pounded so thin that they were extremely dry, but the brown sauce was good, and that is something that I find is lacking elsewhere. But, for these 4 things, I spent over $100. I really find that to be unconscionable, even in today’s inflated economy. This was the last of 3 chances that I’ve given to this restaurant, both in person and via delivery. I think I’ll stick with the more mediocre Chinese food options that we have in Monmouth county. At least they don’t PRETEND to be “gourmet”."
