The Housespecial fried rice is a mix of standard fried rice chicken, beef, pork and shimp.The fried rice is very well cooked being tender, soft and fluffy with individual grains not sticking together which is a wonder sign of well cooked rice. The meats are tender as well but still holding on to their individual qualities making it obvious which piece you're eating. Altogether it creates a smash hit. The house special soup has a very flavorful broth that isn't too heavy but is still rich enough that you almost won't care about the meat and veggies inside of it. The veggies are julienned to perfections giving consistent yummy bites that are both crispy and tender at the same time and once again it has a mix of beef, chicken, shrimp and maybe pork..... "Unfortunately a lot of the meat in my bowl entree was dry and hard, naking it feel like I was pulling small sticks out of my mouth. The taste was really good, but the meat texture was horrible. The only other piece of meat was one large lump with a llong piece of gristle running through it . Initially I thought they forgit my green salsa but I eventually ran into it, over in one of the corners underneath my food. They were very generous with the sour cream and the cheese on top, where I wish they had alao put my salsa. The chicken in my quesadilla was grilled so I really did not enjoy it. The sauce I ordered to go with the quesadilla was only 1/4 full. Full disclosure: In the picture of my quesadilla I had already started eating it. "

"I've wanted to like them since they bought out Fortune Gourmet years ago, so I order sporadically Alas, Spring Roll（2） was mushy, not crisp, and the filling had little flavor. The Pork Fried Dumplings had more flavor, but were very doughy and overwhelmed the filling. On a better note the Wonton Soup was very good, not just salty, with plenty of fresh green onions and beautifully clear, fresh broth. The Vegetable Lo Mein had lovely noodles and a reasonable portion of vegetables - onions, mushrooms, snow peas, and broccoli. The Pad Thai, Pork was tasty with al dente noodles and enough sauce for good flavor without drowning the food. Alas, no peanut topping. The main reason I ordered was the Mandarin Chicken . Thankfully HG abandoned their original recipe for this dish and adopted the FG recipe several years ago. Fiery without sacrificing flavor with fresh red, green, and yellow peppers (not the canned peas and carrots of yore.) Sadly, small portion/price ratio deters a repeat."

"The Homemade Chili was the best restaurant chili I've ever had, hands down. It actually does taste homemade! Lots of beans and wonderfully seasoned meat with just the right amount of tomato. Caution: Might be too spicy for some palates, but as a spicy food lover, I find it has the perfect level of heat. The Bananas Foster Cake was equally delicious. Comes with yummy caramel on the side to drizzle over it. The cake has a delicious banana flavor and it is nice & light and very moist. Husband had Fish N' Chips and he really enjoyed the flounder. (Flounder is one of his preferred fried fish choices, so he appreciates that's the fish they serve in this meal, and not whitefish like many others.) He also thought the Cole slaw was good, even though the appearance threw him at first. They mince the cabbage *very* finely, and neither of us had ever seen slaw that looks like that. He had to take a bite to identify what it was. But, as they say, don't judge a book by its cover because the taste was fine. Unfortunately, the fries didn't travel well so they weren't the best. I don't hold that against the restaurant though, because we live 11 miles away and rhat's a long trip for french fries. Someone closer would most definitely have a better outcome with the fries. "
