We explained again that we’d been waiting an hour for dinner that never came. His response was that we hadn’t been served because we were “talking.” That excuse was absurd and insulting. He offered no apology, no acknowledgment that something had gone wrong, and didn’t offer to comp the appetizers despite the fact that our dinner out was effectively ruined. If he had simply admitted they forgot our order, we would have understood since mistakes happen. But being lied to and treated dismissively guaranteed that we won’t be back."
