TOKAI SUSHI

"As a sushi chef myself I can confidently say that Tokai is in my top 3 spots for sushi in SCV. The quality of the fish is very good. I appreciated the fact that they actually marinated the Ikura (salmon roe). Many sushi restaurants skip this step so you just end up eating salty salmon eggs. My only complaint is I think the marination proved to be a little too much on the sweet side. Other than that my meal was fantastic. I ordered the BAKED GREEN MUSSELS which are probably the best tasting ones in SCV. The red SURF CLAM SUSHI (1PC) which isn't for everyone but has always been one of my favorites. SEARED SALMON SUSHI (1PC) which was delicious. MONKFISH LIVER SUSHI (1PC) another one of those things that people don't normally order but it was also delicious and finally the SALMON ROE SUSHI (1PC). Already said what I didn't like about it but it was still good. "

"Order placed was not ready for pick up for an hour and a half. Rolls were falling apart and avocado was spoiled. No ginger or wasabi provided even though we spent over $130. They gave us two spicy tuna rolls instead of a Bluefin Tuna Roll. Shrimp tempura was mushy and cold."
