The Samosas (Two Pieces Per Order) were HUGE first of all. About the size of my face. It was so good i almost didnt want to finish it so i could eat it later (did not end up happening). "Sooooo good! Taj Grill is my very favorite Vallejo restaurant over all, and possibly the very best Indian food. Well prepared, fresh, quality ingredients; flavors well balanced, generous portions. Terrific menu selection. For this meal I enjoyed the Bhature Chole as an appetizer — whole chickpeas cooked slightly al dente in a rich sauce, served with delicate deep-fried bread (fun to eat!); Tandoori Mix Grill of lamb and chicken, served with the wonderfully complex flavors of their onions marinated with aromatic green mango chutney; a most velvety Saag Paneer with paneer cubes that had an enjoyable, bouncy mouth feel; and THE VERY BEST Cucumber Raita — the spices Taj Grill uses make it so much more flavorful than any other raita I've ever had. "I was not impressed with the early days of this restaurant. But since they reopened after a long absence, I decided to give them a try. The food is surprisingly very good. I had the Chicken Tikka wrap. It didn't have a LOT of chicken, but it was flavorful and filling. The Chicken Tikka Masala was good, and enough for two. The Plain Naan and the Garlic Naan were done perfectly. We tried the Strawberry Lassi and, while it's *fine* it's not great. Strawberry syrup stirred through the yogurt drink just isn't great.
