"McAlister's never disappoints ! 2nd time ordering the grilled chicken bacon salad and it's as good as the 1st time, ( not to mention large ). I decided on the crab soup which is reminiscent of seafood chowder but with the sweetness of crab. The Colossal Carrot Cake is rich and super, ( dare I say ) moist. I'm so glad I got 2 pieces."
"Sandwich was still warm when I got it, good taste and flavor. I wish it was spicier and totally could use more meat, will ask for that next time. Bread was soft which is what I prefer. Potato was excellent, bigger than expected and fresh. Tea was excellent and the large size was LARGE. Everyone seems to be downsizing and charging more, so it was nice to get what I paid for! "

"Beef Empanadas were delicious. The sauce completes the dish. Takes me back to Puerto Rico. Should have gotten extra!"
"Siempre es lo mismo . Llegas al restaurante te sirven una buena cantidad de comida y todo muy bien pides la misma orden por doordas y mandan todo con muy mala preparación . Eh pedido unas empanadas que no eh podido ni comer porque pareciera que estuvieran bañadas en aceites . Adicional a eso con aceite viejo que las empanadas tienen un desagradable sabor . Se supone que el cliente de doordas consume lo mismo o hasta más para esperar tanto y que llegue una comida en malas condiciones "

"First time ordering from here, giant cheese curds. I honestly chose this Cheese Curd Cheese Burger because I wanted both a burger and curds but couldn't eat it all so it was perfect! I think next time I'll add double cheese on the burger especially because I ate them separate from the curds. Sauce was surprisingly good! Glad I ordered it on the side to dip my fries in."
"The Steak House Smash fried onions were really good, the hamburger didn't seem smashed more like a patty and not thin with crispy edges. The fries say battered but tasted like regular fries. The House Made Boulder Cheese Curds were the best item we tasted and would definitely order them again. We did half white half regular cheddar and the dipping sauce complimented them perfectly. The Tap House Potatoes had a few that weren't cooked and was a tad over salted also for the price the amount received was not worth it."

"I've been wanting to order from here for awhile & finally had today. I wished I would've tried it sooner. The chicken was tender & packed with flavor. Alot of food for the price. I highly recommend & will be ordering from here regularly."
"Delicious! Packaged nicely-we ordered quite a bit of food. The chicken, of course, carne asada, queso, guacamole, rice, fries and the taquitos. Everything was tasty. The queso was the best I've had in the Des Moines area. My husband could barely stop eating long enough to tell me, "Make sure you give them a good review!" "Hands down the BEST benedict I have ever eaten! The Florentine was superb and tasted so fresh even though I had it Door Dashed. The piece of HomeGrown Coffeecake pictured is only about 1/3 of the whole piece of cake. It is HUGE!!"
"The kids meal was good sized but comes with no sides. The pancake itself was very bland. My biscuit was maybe a biscuit and a half? Tiny for $16... I had enough gravy for three biscuits, so that's a plus. Everything is lacking salt. The gravy is peppery and good, but again, lacking salt. The biscuits were dry, though the flavor is good. Grits were cheesy but again, lacked salt. The only thing that had plenty of salt was the potatoes. Eggs were standard. The side of bacon was $7 for three pieces of bacon. Latte was great and the little liked her chocolate milk. I always like dining here but I wont order take out again. Overpriced. And everything needs a little more flavor to really arise to the occasion."

"Everyone was saying how the birria is the greatest in the city, so my expectations were high. The (3)Quesabirria plate's consummé was mostly fat, barely any broth which made it bland. The tacos were hefty. It was very filling. That broth is what makes birria great though. My go to is Lina's so thats what im comparing it to. The Tres Leches cake was dry."

"Best Burrito California ive had in a long time! Theres even cheese grilled on the outside. The Vaso de Elote / Corn in a Cup is a large portion & has tons of cheese. The green salsa is mild & tangy & delish. Will def order again."
"Pros:
good presentation, food, and packaged wise.
The red salsa was good!
my dasher actually followed my instructions.
Cons:
I asked for no dairy on all 3 of my gorditas. They did good on 2 of them except the 3rd one. It looks delicious, but I can't have cheese. Luckily, i'm not allergic to dairy, so I was able to get away with it by peeling back the melted cheese that was on the inside of the gordita. However, that took away some of the delicious red sauce of the pork and cactus gordita.
Also, i would happily trade the cost of the paper bag and cute sticker that says to "snap and share" for more salsa. Just stick the sauces inside the to go box, like the rest of the mexican taco trucks.
Just ok: the birria has nice texture and juicy, but they could've added consome on the side to give it more flavor. However, it's fair to mention that they did not promise that when ordering so I did know ahead of time.
Overall: 3/5."

"First time eating from here. I was a little worried about if the food would be hot still when it arrived because we are much further out from them but both meals were perfect! My son has sensory issues and I was worried about him trying something new. I got the Chicken & Rice for him thinking it looked similar to our chicken & rice casserole I make at home and he loved it! It was a huge portion too! It's always a relief when I can find him something on the menu other than deep fried chicken nuggets, so thank you!!! "The salsa verde is the best. Been eating at this truck for 20 years. Forever my favorite! "
"The meat in the burrito was sparse, even ordering double meat. What little meat inside was dry and chewy. There were a few big pieces of gristle that were inedible. The burrito had very little flavor and the tortillas fell apart trying to eat it. Will not be revisiting this place in the future."

"Wow. The cheeseburger is phenomenal. The bacon was ACTUALLY crispy- as I requested! Probably one of THE BEST burgers I have had in a LONG time! The parm fries were also delicious! 10/10! Thank You!"
"Feeling a bit under the weather toay and needed a light late lunch. First lunch order from St. Kilda and I could not have been more impressed . The fact that you could get perfectly poached eggs in Des Moines at 2:00 on a Tuesday afternoon came as a pleasant surprise; the Eggs Florentine were absolutely phenmenal, the quality was amazing."

"so fresh! the Bánh Xèo is very crispy and flavorful and comes with lots of veggies. the Green Thai Tea is also super flavorful and ice cold."
"***NEW*** Coconut Matcha Cloud , underwheming, weird consistency, bland.
Vermicelli Bowl / Bún Thịt Nướng , weird flavor that I've never had with any other vermicelli bowl elsewhere. produce tasted like it hadn't been washed. chicken was a puck it was so dry you couldn't chew it.
Pad Thai , again weird flavor I have never had when eating pad thai. chicken wasn't as dry as the vermicelli bowl, but had absolutely no flavor and was horribly tough.
***NEW*** Raspberry Hibiscus Lemonade , literally the only thing from this order I somewhat liked. decent flavor, nothing that I would go back for.
Thought I would give this a try as opposed to Pho Real which is my normal go to Downtown. I hate to say it, but this is by far the worst Vietnamese food I have had. Spent 80$ for it all to go straight in the trash."

"I can't say enough good things about the Chicken Fried Chicken! The portion is outstanding. I can easily make two meals from this. The Cheese Steak Egg Rolls are also a new fave. "This is one of my favorite places to get food. The food is always consistently delicious and exactly what I wanted. The portions are big for the cost which is great I can get 2 meals out of one order it's great."
"I really wanted to like this place but the size of the dips was so small for 4 dollars. The rice and beans was barely half a scoop. The chips were soggy and the guac was like a premade green liquid. The beef in the burrito was also quite chewy. Unfortunately this place is not worth the money. It was packaged nicely though."
