"First time trying Sals, I like the NY theme and they get points for having Black and white cookies but for the price the pizza was not good enough even from a Southern California perspective ( not known for our pizza, good spots aren't that common). I'd give it a pass if it wasn't pushing the NY presentation but because it is I have to judge accordingly. My Dads side of the family is from Bronx/yonkers so I grew up visiting there and Jersey and also scouting out the good local places in SD and OC. The biggest issue was the crust, I ordered well done and got undercooked floppy pizza, crust didn't have much of a taste either. Wasn't much sauce on it so didn't really notice what it tasted like it was so subtle. Cheese was good quality though and tasty. "

"For me the Pizza here is Perfection, I've always been a pizza connoisseur of sorts, I've probably tried every pizza in Orange County and Lampost will now be my Go 2 Pizza. All the ingredients were perfect, this was not one of those pizzas that I liked but felt it could have been better had they done this or that differently, it was legitimately perfect in every way. The cheese, the sauce and the toppings and most importantly the crust/dough were just excellent. I rarely ever leave reviews for food but I was so happy with this pie that I felt compelled to do so.
My sons and I have been building a list of what we think are the best pizza places in the area for the past couple years. Today I found out Lampost is definitely my favorite, this will be the pizza place I vote for from now on! There are some close runner ups but this is definitely mine and my youngest boys new favorite, my oldest says it's in his top 3 for sure, the only reason I think he didn't crown it the King of local pizzas is cause we didn't get the thin Crust that he normally prefers."

I'm not sure if it's because they get busy or if there's a chef or two that rushes or doesn't know how to cook, idk. Not sure why some days it tastes amazing and others it doesn't. Tonight, the strawberries were sour. They were so bad I spit them out. They weren't sweet at all and had several brown spots. The container was overflowing with lettuce and it didn't even look that fresh. I found wilted pieces in there. The chicken was actually edible but is was almost as if they put the chicken on an unclean grill. Had a lot of soot on the chicken. And lastly it was like they threw in a handful of pecans and some goat cheese and slapped on some avocado and said "Well gee this look decent". Kind of disappointed me. I hope they can check their salads for consistency in the future. It's a shame cause I feel like I wasted some money. At least if I'm hungry I got some more pasta to eat. Definitely go for the pasta. Find a different place if you're craving a salad."
