"I know this place is new & it's a neat concept but our first experience was a little awkward. I chose the lowest sugar level which didn't add any sweetness to the drink. There are many levels so not sure which to choose. The "honey bun" (not pictured) was an actual mini hamburger bun. Not a fan @ $6. What is the Rose City Chai? A description would be nice. My chai came in another store's branded cup which was confusing, I thought it was a wrong order or just a weird way to cut corners. The hot chai was good but had an open hole & spilled en route. We would order again, maybe in store for a better experience & to try the traditional clay cups."

"My wife and I were in the mood for some Indian food and this food truck came up we gave it a try and we both loved it. "The Hyderabadi Chicken Biryani did not look anything like the photos and there were no grilled onions, only a side of raw onions on the side. The chicken is also chopped up and not whole pieces as advertised. However, it smells great and the other dishes looked fine. The Tikka Masala Curry Bowl was a good sized portion and the desserts look delicious but I did think I was getting more of the Gulab Jamun. Everything else is good though. For some reason it's just the one Biryani dish that didn't make the mark."

"Worst Indian food I've ever had.
Mattar Paneer Masala had lima beans, corn, and potatoes in it (unexpected and not a good addition) and very little sauce. The paneer was tasteless and an odd texture. It did not come with rice, even though it was pictured with rice. I paid for the large and got a small container about half full; maybe 8fl oz of curry.
The samosas were cold, small, and didn't come with any chutney like at most places.
The garlic naan was thick and dry- it felt more like focaccia bread than naan.
The biryani was good, but we asked for medium spice and it was spicier than the "hot" curry we had."

"I love this spot but the Lamb Vindaloo Curry was disappointing this time - five or so massive chunks of potato and only two fairly small cubes of lamb. If that's the distribution, I wouldn't recommend spending this much on a dish that's primarily potatoes.
Everything else was a delight and portions were decent."

"Korma is my fav dish of ALL time, and East India continues to have the best korma I ever had. If you like Tikka Masala but are looking for something new to try, I'd recommend the Korma! I personally love to use the Garlic Naan to roll up some curry + basmati rice that is served alongside the curry dish. Indian burrito style af!
Don't forget to add Samosa Chaat and Mango Lassi (milkshake) to your order because they're the perfect combination for your pleasure and taste buds! Nothing is better than flavours and aromas of Indian spices and mango to level off the spice!

"Hands down the BEST Indian food in all of Portland! Great quality, flavours, service, the whole package and more. Never messed up the order, lots of vegetarian/vegan options, lots of variety of curries to choose from. I cant wait to try them all. However my personal favourite is the korma & samosas, as well as the chana pindi. The garlic naans are perfect: not too much, not too little. Everything about East India Co. is absolutely amazing. It's certainly my dad and I's favourite thing to order every time we get to spend a weekend together watching films. "

"The Lamb Vindaloo was amazing. Perfectly spicy but not overkill (as someone who likes some spice but not at the level of, say, ghost peppers), and very flavorful. I ordered for myself, but the portion was easily large enough for two people. I also had the Garlic Naan with ghee, and it was possibly the best naan I've ever had from a restaurant. The biggest disappointment was the price compared to the portion size- the Chicken Tikka Masala had 6 chunks of chicken in it. More than half the container was sauce. We received 1 container of rice for 2 orders of chicken. It's perhaps their large container for rice but it's the same size as other restaurants give for a single person. The naan was overcooked. Overall mediocre meal especially for the price."

"Butter Chicken was very flavorful, I gambled on the spicy option because of what I read here & I'm glad I did because it wasn't spicy & if I had gone lighter it would've been far too sweet for my taste. Garlic Cheese Naan was fire, a little more garlic & I would've definitely over ate them. Samosas came still crispy & warm, I didn't have to revive them. I got the biryani because I wasn't sure if the BC would come with rice (it did), was very flavorful & delicious. Generous portions, definitely have plenty leftovers after three grown adult dinners."

The Paneer Pakoda was a bit rubbery and worked out to around $1 a piece but it was still decent, mildly-spiced paneer pakoda with delicious dipping sauces; for me the sauces were actually the highlight here, they were some of the most delicious dips for paneer pakoda I've gotten! I usually don't like hari chutney but I enjoyed this one a lot so take it from me, this place's hari chutney is really good! There was also a very sweet sauce I'm unsure of the name of but was absolutely delicious; a tangy, sweet and rich sauce that really fit the flavor of pakoda well. To be fully honest about it, I'll go somewhere else for my paneer pakoda fix.
The Chicken Cheese Naan was really good though I wish they'd used a bit more filling because the flavor struggled to come through the naan's doughy flavor and felt like wasted effort (and money) at times. It was slightly charred along the edge and a little dry on the outer rim where the chicken filling didn't quite reach but I'm already lamenting only getting one because I finished it already, I highly recommend it and can't wait to have one again for lunch in the future!"

"I've ordered a handful of times, tried a few different dishes and have not been disappointed. all the flavors are there, the portions are generous and everything looks and smells amazing! this fish dish was so yummy, but if you struggle with spicy food then I would suggest the other fish they have on their menu. this Apollo Fish is something I've been wanting to try. it's not crispy because it's tossed in a delicious spicy sauce after it's fried. as for the soda, the one in my photo is not the one I ordered (I don't think) but I assume they are out of the Indian Soda - Jaljeera Maslala and replaced it with Limca. "The Pani Puri was thoroughly delectable. The pani (tamarind water with boondis) was thick with flavor unlike the usual watered down version I've tasted elsewhere. I wish there were more pooris, though. The potato based filling perfectly balanced out the tangyness of the pani and the meethi (dates) chutney.
My only suggestion would be to include more pooris and accordingly some additional quantity of the potato filling.

"Finally found a favorite Indian restaurant!
I’m really glad I decided to try this place. Everything I ordered was delicious, especially the Lasuni Dal Tadka. I’ve tried quite a few dal tadkas elsewhere, and this is by far the best I’ve had. A lot of the ones I’ve tried at other restaurants have been very thin and watery, but this one had so much more flavor and a nice, hearty texture with the lentils still having some texture. It was also spicy in exactly the way I like it. I would definitely order it again. The only thing I felt was that $17 was a little pricey for the portion size, but it was so delicious that I would still happily order it again.
The spicy naan with green chilies was also really good. It was soft, flavorful, and this was my first time trying spicy naan. I really enjoyed it and would definitely order it again.
I also tried the Masala Chai. It was good, but it had a little too much milk for my taste, and I would have preferred a stronger chai flavor.
Overall, I really enjoyed my meal and would definitely recommend this restaurant. The food was flavorful, the spice level was perfect for me, and I’m happy to have finally found a place I’ll be coming back to try more dishes."
