"I got the small Teriyaki Karaage Bowl and Yum Yum Crispy Chicken Bowl. The portion size is good for a small size and adequately filling. It came with 4 to 5 pieces of fried chicken pieces and the sauce was drizzled on top. The bowl came with a side salad with dressing and pickled sushi ginger.
The chicken pieces were fine. They taste kinda like the frozen, fully cooked, seasoned chicken bites from costco that were fried and then drizzled with sauce.
The teriyaki sauce was a bit too sweet for my preference. It did give the chicken pieces a beautiful glaze but I felt the soy sauce flavor was a bit lacking.
The yum yum sauce was also sweet. To me, it tastes quite similar to the thin-sweet mayo used for the prawn/shrimp in the famous honey walnut prawns dish.
The side salad and ginger were normal. The salad did have a sweet, white dressing.
The chicken rice was really mushy and gooey. Too much water (or chicken broth) was used to cook it. For a chicken rice, it's rather bland. 😅"

This was my first visit to Gyu-Kaku, and I placed a to-go order. The restaurant appeared clean and well-maintained, and the associate at pickup was friendly and professional, which I appreciated.
Unfortunately, several basics were missing from my order. I was told they were out of plastic utensils, and there were no napkins included, which made eating a takeout meal inconvenient.
As for the food, it was underwhelming. The miso soup was bland, lacking the expected depth of flavor. The salad arrived with no dressing at all, making it feel incomplete. The chicken and rice were also bland, with little seasoning overall.
While I appreciate the cleanliness of the location and the friendly service 🙂, the overall experience did not meet expectations—especially considering the brand and pricing.
With better attention to order accuracy and more consistent seasoning, this could be a much stronger takeout option. For now, it was just an okay experience."

"The Chicken Teriyaki was pretty good. The pineapple and corn are a major component of the flavor, which makes this remind me a bit of what "Japanese food" meant in America when I was a kid, but then the unagi sauce and wakame makes it definitely modern poke-bowl-place food.

I have ordered it through Door Dash and it was so-so the first time and really disappointing the second time. The second time it was burned and cold. They barely give you any rice and the rice i received this tome was not very good. It was super dry and undercooked. It seemed like some grains were not even cooked at all. There isnt an option on Door Dash to order an extra rice, so I requested it in the requests. I also asked for extra katsu sauce. They only give you a half of a very small plastic container, the kind for ketchup. Thy did give me extra rice but not extra Katsu sauce. I also noted I didnt want miso soup or salad, which they clearly read and didnt provide. Something is clearly wrong with their kitchen.
