"The food is pretty good extra sweet the only reason I am giving it a almost low score is due to the wait time. Just to make you aware this is not a place where you think you can place an order and it will be ready in about 5 to 10 minutes. You will be waiting about 20 minutes and up for your order especially if you order multiple items. So this is not a quick lunch break or stop even if you're craving something sweet. This is something where you wanna make sure you have about at least a free hour. But besides the time crunch, it's very delicious. I got the Oreo churros, which is pretty much nine churros that is topped with Oreo pieces and whipped cream. I feel like it would be better if they mix the whip cream in the Oreo pieces and fill them so it would be a stuffed churro stick, but it's still pretty good. Also nine pieces for decent size churro stick isn't that bad of a deal? I also got the big cookie peach cobbler which isn't that bad it's really one big personal size cookie topped with peach cobbler. I like it. It's a really different concept and it was also pretty good especially when it's warm and fresh. Again I highly recommend this place. The only issue in problem is the wait time, waiting for good food is really not that bad of a deal"

"I rarely leave reviews, but today I felt truly compelled to share an exceptional experience. I had the pleasure of speaking with Chanel (I hope I’m spelling her name correctly), and her kindness left a lasting impression on my family and me.
I called Malai to ask whether their ice cream was prepackaged, as my daughter is currently in the hospital and can only have prepackaged items due to her doctor-prescribed limited diet. Chanel was incredibly patient and understanding. She carefully explained which ice creams were prepackaged and let me know what was currently in stock. She even stayed on the phone with me while I placed my order so she could personally accept it, ensure the correct prepackaged ice cream was selected, and pack it properly for my daughter.
Chanel went above and beyond in every possible way. She kindly offered to add an extra pint at her own expense. I politely declined, and when she spoke directly with my daughter, my daughter also said no. Chanel then mentioned that they had popsicles and asked if my daughter would like one instead. My daughter happily said yes, and Chanel added it to the order, telling her it was a gift from her and wishing her a speedy recovery.
Even then, her generosity didn’t end there. When the delivery arrived, Chanel had quietly added another pint, purchased out of her own pocket. I have never experienced such genuine compassion and care from anyone in a business setting. She did not have to do any of this, yet she chose to do so purely out of kindness for my child.
Malai Restaurant is incredibly fortunate to have someone like Chanel on their team. She is truly an extraordinary person. "Ate here 3 times while in DC, and really tried to give it a chance. All 3 times, my sandwich (main part of my meal), was made wrong. For being as expensive as it is, I can't be okay with that. The Mac and cheese is pretty bland, and it doesn't come in a "side" size, only a full entree. Everything seems relatively fresh, but I would not want to try this again. I would eat their desserts or bakery items, but everything else is a no for me. Also, the cinnamon roll was nottttt good. It was strongly cinnamon flavored bread with a little bit of icing. It tasted like a cinnamon dinner roll. So disappointed because these were very convenient to my hotel!"
