"I celebrated my birthday at Aaktun. We enjoyed the Strawberry Lemonade, Horchata Latte, Tropical Shrimp and Grits, OG Burger, and The Little Bull French Toast. Reading the menu can be a little intimidating if you are not familiar with the flavors or items. I was very hesitant about the Shrimp and Grits after reading the ingredients on their website, but it tasted amazing! Also, when I saw the pictures on the site, I almost did not try this restaurant. Luckily, my initial impression was from a food review on Instagram. They made the French toast look amazing, but on the website it looked nothing like the review. I for sure eat with my eyes first. Definitely try this restaurant. Excellent vibes. Nice staff. Great food!"

This was my first time trying this restaurant, and I am seriously impressed.
I got the breakfast plate with eggs, beef sausage, cheese grits, a biscuit, and two hash browns, and it was amazing. It tasted like the kind of breakfast you’d get at your grandma’s house on the weekend—if your grandma could really cook. The food was delicious, the portions were generous, and it was worth every dollar.
I also got the salmon wrap with a side salad, and both were excellent. Everything tasted fresh, clean, and high quality. You can tell whoever is cooking knows how to cook real food.
The macaroni and cheese was really good, and the green beans were good too, though they were a little salty for my personal taste.
What really stood out was the customer service. An item I ordered wasn’t available, and the restaurant actually contacted me directly to make sure I was accommodated. They gave me an extra side and a FREE banana pudding, which was absolutely amazing.
The fact that all of this was delivered makes it even more impressive. Some restaurants don’t travel well, but everything arrived tasting fresh and delicious.
Honestly, this is some of the best food I’ve had so far in the Raleigh-Durham area. It’s not trying to be fancy or trendy—it’s just really good soul food made with quality ingredients and care. Great food, great portions, and great customer service.
