"I want to start by saying that I am not one of those people who writes reviews often but I do read the reviews of others when considering something new. This was my first time trying this restaurant and I'm sorry I don't have a picture to show because it was so AMAZING I ate it all. Don't judge me. I grew up in New York and really took the availability of good authentic Jamaican food for granted. After living in many parts of the south for many years I've grown skeptical of the Jamaican scene in the south. Don't get me wrong, I've had good Jamaican food in different areas over the years but most are mediocre at best while the locals seem to love it. This is not that place. I'm not going to lie, whenever I try a new restaurant I base my opinion on the ox tails to see if I will be back to even try anything else. Let me tell you, they did not disappoint. In fact, to say that I was pleasantly surprised is an understatement. I was expecting a couple of small ox tails with mostly fat on them and very little meat. I was also expecting to get mostly rice and peas to hid the fact that nothing else is there in the hope that you get full on rice to not notice you hardly had any meat. Not the case. I was given 3 ox tails the size of my hand that was full of meat. I was getting full by the second one but it didn't stop me from continuing to fully indulge in the big back moment I was having. The rice was so good I could've ate it without the gravy, and the cabbage felt like somebody's grandma fixed them for me. Needless to say I will be back to try more from this restaurant and something tells me they will not disappoint. Sorry this review was so long but I hope it gives you an idea of how good the food is. "The Fried Oyster Basket was disgraceful. The first one I ate only had a piece of an oyster with a hint of oyster flavor. The second one I ate didn't even have that. I couldn't bring myself to try it the rest of them. The "fried oysters" could have been lovely with an actual oyster because the breading was light and spot on. My sister said the fried shrimp basket was delicious. They were large and plenty to eat for dinner."
