It's authentic, (some other pizza places don't understand deep dish pizza is supposed to be like a PIE), but Papalis knows this! Pricey? "It's good. I mean I've been a customer for this pizza for years. Very pricy for the offering but like their deep dish and salads. Meatballs are good but I'm not adding $14 for 3 meatballs (ground beef) with sauce to our meal. Paying $30 for a small pizza is beyond comprehension but allows me to maintain sanity as it is really good. Wish they would just lower the price to help. Oh, or at least have a flavor crust but it is still a good crust. Also you have to pull the pizza slices up from the pizza box otherwise left overs are difficult to pull up-they haven't cracked that code all these years how to put a some sort of baking paper down in the box before putting the pizza in the box. "I ordered from Renee’s Gourmet Pizzeria (Tru Pizza Co) and had a great experience from start to finish. The food came quickly, everything was hot, and I felt completely confident eating it—even with food restrictions.
The deep-dish Meat Lovers Pizza with vegan cheese was delicious. The crust had a nice chew and actually held up under generous toppings and flavorful sauce. It's similar to the pizza I used to eat before going gluten-free—something I’ve missed for a long time.
The Grilled Chicken Wrap was filling and well-seasoned, and the cheese flatbread had that warm, golden top layer and soft center that hit the spot.
The Fresh Cut Fries were the only item I wouldn’t order again—they were soggy and under seasoned. My son ate a few but left most of them alone.
But the Elephant Ears ? Absolutely worth it. They were soft, sweet, and finished with just the right amount of icing. A comforting end to a solid meal."

I recently tried the pollo paillard and, unfortunately, it didn't live up to expectations. The dish featured three small, plain chicken cutlets that lacked seasoning or any notable flavor—definitely not what I’d expect from a traditional paillard. For $40, I was hoping for something much more satisfying. That said, I still have a deep appreciation for this restaurant and will stick to their classic dishes, which never disappoint."

Not sure if this is just a random bad evening to order, but the cost is simply too high for the low quality of these items. We have been a longtime customer (over 15 years) but we are likely not going to order again. :-("

"The dough on both of our pizzas were completely RAW. It is gummy, and tastes like a mouthful of raw dough.
It is the worst pizza I've had. It seems like it was only cooked for a few minutes. I'm trying to salvage a few pieces in the air fryer for my kids, and it's taken another 10 minutes to get it edible.
I should not be able to make a dough ball out of my supposedly cooked pizza crust."

"The pictures make this pizza look delicious but the reality was that it tasted like nothing. The crust lacked crunch and the sauce, cheese, and pepperoni were all absolutely flavorless. It's almost impressive that they've managed to make a pizza that tastes like absolutely nothing. This was honestly the most bland and unremarkable pizza I've ever tasted in my life and I've tried more than 500 different pizza places all across the United States. It didn't even taste bad, it just tasted like nothing at all. My recommendation to their pizza chef is to use google to find a better dough recipe. Do a thick or thin crust but not whatever this crust is. Change suppliers to get better quality ingredients. Add some salt, pepper, herbs, and spices to level up the sauce. Try out a mozzarella/ provolone, or asiago cheese blend, and if you're unable to eat pork, then ask a friend who can eat pork to help you find a quality pork pepperoni with flavor and spice."
