I am a huge fan of HEB, but the BBQ we received today was some of the most disappointing I have ever eaten. The lean brisket and turkey were each a slab of dry, chewy meat. The Cole slaw had a chemical aftertaste (soap?). The potato salad was a strange mixture of flavors including mustard powder instead of using real egg-based mayo or liquid mustard. The Mac and cheese used a bland white cheese making it meh. The cornbread and honey butter were more like corn cake with icing. The sweet BBQ sauce was brown sugar water.
We did like the Sidewinder Fries , but those are just thick potatoes with sea salt and not "True Texas BBQ".
I was originally excited that a new HEB opened near my house with BBQ...but none of us who ate from there today are interested in eating there again considering how many options we have for actual Texas BBQ in the area."

"This place was SO good!!! We are pretty picky with wings and this place did not disappoint. The (bone in) wings were crispy and the sauces we chose (mango habanero & garlic Parmesan which we mixed with the mild buffalo) were so tasty. We split the 10 Classic Bone-In Wings Combo and between the wings, the celery/carrots and the fries there was plenty of food for the 2 of us. Our only wish is that we could have seasoned fries (like tossed in the wing seasoning) but its a minor thing. We will DEFINITELY be going back"
"The wings were sub par. Extremely lightly sauced, its as if the wings just absorbed the sauce and left them orange, not "covered" just soggy and partially orange pieces of chicken. If you want sauced up wings this is not the place to order from. Some of them had maybe 1 spot of absorbed orange spot on them. "

The tortilla was homemade, but not very tasty & fell apart very quickly. I also ordered the barbacoa Order of Mini Tacos. They were better in flavor than the burrito, but not the best I've ever had. The grease from the meat also soaked the tortillas. The Green (spicy) Salsa is definitely spicy!! They only give one of each salsa per item ordered. Maybe the food is better at the restaurant?"
