"Excellent Chicken Biryani (although it was too spicy for me to finish). The spiciness is hardly the restaurant's fault, and I should have requested a milder level of heat. Nevertheless, the dish was obviouly well-prepared and flavorful with a good amount of boneless chicken for the price. I also enjoyed the Daal and Onion Naan . I loved that my food was still hot when it arrived! I will definitely order from Naan n' Curry again!"
"Chicken Tikka Masala tasted stale and had an unusual smell. The Plain Naan and Garlic Naan were overly thin with lots of holes and burnt, appearing as if someone inexperienced had made them. I ordered last week as well and did not enjoy the meal this time."

"The flavor on the Burma!Burma! Noodle (GFS) just left a lot to be desired. They should keep the fried onions on the side so they're not soggy like mine were when they came. "Tastes exactly like Burma Superstar. Garlic noodles w/ pork belly was tasty. Popcorn chicken light and perfectly breaded. Coconut rice paired the chicken well and added a nice sweetness."
"Hmmm. Not sure what happened with Burma bites. The spicy chicken sandwich was very dry, breading falling off, it was definitely not fresh. Oh and burnt was burnt. It would be great if fresh. Spice level was perfect. The green beans were yummy. The garlic noodles were the blandest I've ever tasted. Will not order the garlic noodles again for certain. "Love this place! Have been trying to find a great SEA restaurant & this is now my go to! I don't ever leave reviews but this place deserves all the love! Beef salad was amazing, taste just like how my dad makes it! Papaya is the best I've found in the bay! Pad Thai is freaking delicious! The crispy chicken with fried rice is bomb as always!!!! So yummy & great portions! "
"EXCELLENT!! I will definitely be ordering from here again. Great portion sizes! The Pad Thai Noodle is delicious and will definitely be enough for at least 2 meals for my mother. I had the Kra Prow (Spicy Basil) medium spice which was the perfect level. Amazing flavor and I'll probably get 3 meals out of it. Also got the Pot Stickers and those were great even without using any of the sauces. (We had already eaten a couple before taking the pic.) HIGHLY RECOMMEND ALL 3 ITEMS!"

"This was my first time not only trying Filipino food, but also food from this restaurant. It was definitely a hit for me with both the Pancit Bihon w/ Chicken and Shanghai Lumpia (Chicken). Both were large, generous portions, to the point where I was not even able to finish it. I especially loved the Shanghai Lumpia (Chicken) which wwte just the right size and really smooth and easy to go down. A really tasty treat. For the Pancit Bihon w/ Chicken, while also really great, I wish it had a little more spice to it, just a little kick or something. I understand that's how it's made, so I ended up adding some crushed trees pepper to it (that I happed to have). I may use another hot sauce next time just to help bring out more of the flavor. But overall, I really liked it and will be ordering again from here with no hesitation!"

"This was so good! This is my second time ordering from them and I must say this is the BEST African food I have EVER tasted! The first time I ordered I got the jollof rice, chicken, vegetables,& plantain ( which usually I won't eat) I cleaned that plate too ! It shocked me that it was a little spicy but that's ok because the flavor was very much present! Even the pounded yam ( FUFU) was good! The first place I ordered I didn't want to eat the fufu ( it wasn't bad but it wasn't like this!) & their Egusi also didn't have as my much flavor! Even my bf liked the Egusi soup and chicken! He's super picky lol. Kinda mad I shared because this was so good! I do wish I got a little more Egusi but that might just be my greedy side talking lol"

"Loved the adobo! Very different than any other adobo I've had without the hard boiled egg and with coconut milk in the broth but it was very delicious! The lechon kawali also remained quite crispy so that was a big okie! The pancit and lumpia were good."
"I really wanted to give 5 stars because I'm Filipino and want to support a Filipino establishment! But that would be dishonest. Overall, overpriced for the taste and the portion sizes. Lechon Kawali was bone dry and one-note. Doesn't tickle the palate, doesn't taste like home. Same thing with the Pancit . Dry, bland, noodles congealed together. Not moreish, not exciting. Tastes and feels like routinr
Halo Halo is the only dish they got right for us this evening, but they didn't cover it properly, so so much of it was exposed to goodness knows what.

"I ordered more than I could possibly eat in one sitting! The Vada (3 pieces) were very fresh and fluffy, had to put the Samosa (3 pieces) off for tomorrow but they looked great too. "This is one of the best restaurants I've ever visited, hands down. I came to visit Oakland for a work trip, and during my stay I found myself coming back to Shooting Star Cafe well over four times in a two day period. Each time I got something different, and every item was delicious, refreshing, and made me want to keep coming back. In particular I loved their lychee sago bowl with mixed fruit, and all of their drinks were exactly what I was hoping for. "
"We had several dishes that were delicious. Pork Spareribs Clay Pot Rice / 㰖角排骨煲仔飯 had great flavors with Bok Choy and bowl full of rice, too much rice. Shredded Pork Pan Fried Noodle / 肉絲煎麵arrived with pan noodles on separate container. Shredded pork could also be great as a soup dish! Combination Meat Chow Mein / 雜錦炒麵was ok nothing special and almost lacked that wholesome flavor for authentic chinese food. Fried Prawns / 炸蝦was cooked perfectly and tasted great! Popcorn Chicken / 鹽酥雞 was seasoned well! Beef Chow Fun / 乾炒牛河 was surprisingly very good with good flavors. Salt & Pepper Chicken Wings / 椒鹽雞中翼 were ok and our least favorite, very oily and arrived soggy. "

"Fulfilling a craving of authentic Jamaican food. I could only really compare the dishes to a friend's Jamaican food and restaurants we tried in Florida. Definitely fall off the bone jerk chicken and the oxtail had great flavors! I originally ordered the white rice but they ran out. The clerk removed it from my order and asked for me to reorder the substitute I requested which was the rice and peas. But since I ordered later in the evening, DoorDash wouldn't allow me to order saying they were closed. I believe the manager Kevin said it would be on the house. So thankful for a great first experience! The rice and peas were a hit! Packed with flavor!! Anyone ordering just white rice is missing out!"

"Bacalao (Saltfish) was fire. Didn't know what to expect, I read about how the portions were pretty small but I felt like this was just enough. Also, Considering I paid $15 (DD discount) definitely gotta run it back. "
"Honestly I'm very disappointed. The portions were really small for the price and the taste did not remind of me of Dominican food. As a Dominican in the west coast, I was hoping this would remind me of home but it doesn't. I've been to alamar before and this was not the quality I had dining in. The "Pernil" Roast Pork was dry and the Moro was super sticky. I wouldn't do take out again, I'll just do fine in"

"Love this place! Always cooked perfectly and full of flavor. great pad thai and apps. amazing eggplant. Haven't had a bad or even average meal yet and I've ordered from them several times! HIGHLY recommended! "
"The presentation from this restaurant was absolutely amazing. Even though I had takeout, they still took their time with how the food was presented. I wish I had taken a picture before I started eating. Speaking of eating, I thoroughly enjoyed the Basil Eggplant / ผัดมะเขือยาว and really loved that they put the rice in the same container as the sauce. It made it so much easier to mix the sauce into the rice as opposed to trying to pour it onto the rice in another container. Very practical and again, very tasty. Only thing was the tofu was a little hard and dry at times. Loved the green beans which was crispy and well proportioned. I liked the Summer Roll / ปอเปี๊ยะสด to a degree, but it was a lot. And I wasn't a fan of the sauces it came with. I went with the peanut one as it was less tangy than the other sauce. Overall, this being my first time trying Nua, I was happy with my purchases. I look forward to actually trying them in person, holey sooner rather than later."

"The Hokkien noodles with Malay sauce and chicken is soooo fire! The noodles are so bouncy and chewy, plus the veggies and chicken taste super fresh. Make sure to order extra sauce (separate charge but worth it) because it really takes it to the next level. I always get this when I'm in the East Bay. Delish!"

"The food was well packaged. In most cases, having it delivered doesn't do the food justice. Reassembling the dish take away the representation and perhaps the intended taste. I degress. The pad Thai was tightly packed so the noodles stuck together. Pulling them apart and assembling on my plate looked like a mess but it tasted fine. And the Chiang Mai noodles packed in two containers, one with the curry broth and the other with the dry and crispy noodles, onions and other ingredients. The curry sweet and tangy broth always delight my tongue. The portion was what was expected and pricing is market rate. Chiang Mai Noodles is my go to dish here. It never fails me."
"The pad see ew beef was so dried and fatty I thought it was the noodles. Left them to give to my dog. Beef & Broccoli sauce was so salty it was overpowering. They DID put in food crammed to the box. They were massively heavy boxes of the fried rice and noodles that made me feel better for leaving strings of beef. I have had to spit out strings of the beef because the fat or connective tissues.
Not going back."

"Really good!! The naan pieces are HUGE and everything is a great portion for the price. They don't let you select the spice level but the standard is good, not overwhelming but spicy. Samosas are really big, puffy, fried, yummy. Curry sauce is great, pretty basic but good. Highly recommend! "

"Absolutely loved this place! It’s family-owned and you can taste the love and care in every bite. The food was incredibly fresh, and the flavors—just wow. The chicken came with a spicy sauce that was an absolute explosion of flavor, the kind that lingers in the best way. The naan was perfectly soft and buttery, great for scooping up all the extra sauce from the generous Chicken Tikka Masala, which was rich, creamy, and easily enough to satisfy two people. This is the kind of spot that makes you want to come back again and again. Highly recommend! Even spoke with owners daughter to share how amazing it was! Thank you! "

"My family has been eating here for over 15 years. The best and fresh made Doro Tibsy and Kitfo with more than enough for seconds! Would highly recommend."
"I ordered the house 18. House Special Sampler and the peach Peach Cream as my beverage. It was interesting how they packaged the food, with several large pieces of injera on top, completely covering the food, instead of neatly rolled separately as pictured in some of their pictures. I did have to remove it and put it to the side in order to actually get to the main food. Otherwise, I would've had to eat most of the injera on its own, before being able to actually eat the food. The injera itself had an interesting taste to it, and not in a positive way. It was tasteless and yet also had that aforementioned taste. The 18. House Special Sampler I found to be rather bland, and the potatoes and cabbage were huge chunks. The potatoes didn't seem to be fully cooked as it had some hard parts to it. The only one that seemed to have some kind of flavor to it was the alicha. While it was my first time trying this, it just wasn't for me. Thus, I doubt that I'll order again."
