The sauce was thick and had a pleasant sweetness to it. The chicken was cooked perfectly! My husband had the Goan shrimp. he loves spice so he sat there and ate it while sweating and mouth on fire! "The Chicken Tikka Masala was awful, it was watered down as if they accidentally poured a lot of water into the dish. The sauce was extremely thin and flavorless, the chicken was dry. I tried my best but it was just pointless to chew on tough and tasteless food, I threw it in the trash sadly. Never in my life did I think I would say Indian food had No flavor, so disappointed in Begum.
The dish did not come with rice, I had to order it separately, which is normally not a problem, but the other two dishes ordered came with rice and the rice portion with those was twice the size of the tiny $7 side of rice!
The second worst dish was the Shrimp Coconut. This dish was also very thin / watered down. We did not have to throw this one away, but better quality was still expected.
I ordered from Begum years ago when a friend lived in Chatham, it was so very good. The sauces I remember were rich and flavorful, the meat was never tough.
After this experience, I can't trust to order from here again :/"
