"This is the ultimate in comfort food.
The Bacon Cheeseburger is perfect. I love that the bacon is crispy enough but not overdone, so the softness matches the burger. I asked for cheddar cheese and I can taste the sharpness. Topped by the right amount of condiment. This has to be everyone's favorite burger joint if they make all burgers like they made mine. The fries are a great compliment for an all-American meal.

"Despite being back home for over 20 years, I think this is the first time I've ordered from Route 40 Diner, but it won't be the last.
I was hungry for pot roast and mashed potatoes. Believe it or not, not everyone gets pot roast right, but theirs was very good - had just a nice amount of fat. I ordered my gravy on the side because I like to butter my mashed potatoes first, and they gave me a generous cup of it.
But while I was scrolling thru the menu, the Thursday Special of Cabbage Rolls (Halupki) caught my attention. I figured I could have that for lunch Friday, and I did. I used some of that gravy on my mashed potatoes with that meal. The Halupki was just like Mommy used to make - only I spent no time wrapping & tucking little meat & rice balls in boiled cabbage to earn this meal.
It's nice to get a home-cooked meal delivered when I'm not feeling well. The food was good & filling, and tasted like I could have made it myself. I appreciate the focus on local cuisine."

"I love the grilled chicken sandwich but they're stingy with the tomato. I understand cost increases and don't mind paying more to get what I want. The last 2 orders, I chose to add an additional tomato to each sandwich for 36 cents more, and I still only got one tomato. Which, by the way, are PINK, not red, in the middle of summer! Their produce vendor needs to step it up. Of course, I'd rather have pink tomatoes than none. We did not get our honey mustard sauce for the chicken fingers. It's always something and it's frustrating. I wish they would pay more attention to detail! The ice cream came in it's own bag this time, which was great! We will keep ordering, just with low expectations. I did contact the owner via their website a few weeks ago and received an email that the store manager would reach out to me in a few days.
