"Second time trying Eerkins. I grew up with Uyghur cuisine and sadly this doesn't compare. Out of about 10 dishes I tried in the two orders I placed, I sort of liked two... Laghman had very little meat and barely any flavor. Most of the dish consisted of a huge lump of noodles. No broth at all - the dish is pretty dry and mostly cabbage and very little meat. Baba Ghanoush seemed like it mostly had pureed tomato and very little of anything else. I am frankly not even sure they sent me the right dish, because it tasted nothing like Baba Ghanoush and I saw no eggplant in it at all... "Really good shrimp tacos but fish portion could be bigger "
"The corn tortillas were all chewy-hard, cold (not from travelling, but as in never warmed from cold storage) and tasted old/stale. The al pastor meat was not at all like the moist and flavorful marinated/spit cooked meat it usually is, but was so dry, chewy and tough even the pineapple didn't help (I only ate half.) The small piece of fish in the taco might've been OK if it hadn't sat under a pile of creamy but bland (needed the tang of some vinegar) cole slaw for so long that the supposed 'tempura' fry coating turned to mush.
I really didn't expect the esquite to have fresh corn this time of year, but the mayo dressing had no seasoning evident except salt, it was missing the spicy pepper flakes and was tasteless. Finally, the mole, normally a favorite and the primary reason I went with this place, was just another stale but otherwise basically tasteless gloppy mess (I've had better out of a jar), and covered with dry unseasoned shredded cabbage. I didn't see or taste any cheese or sour cream, and the rice also had no flavor (I didn't bother to taste the black beans.)"
