"Best Chinese food in the area in my opinion. I spent less than fifteen dollars total and received enough food to have both lunch and dinner. The chicken lo mein was so fresh and delicious and also came with soup, what I think were two cream cheese wontons and both lo mein and fried rice. The wonton soup was delious too. You can't beat the price for the amount of food and the quality of the food you receive."

"This place has some really terrible reviews, especially on Google, so I was extremely hesitant to press the button to confirm my order after racking up $150 in goodies for my family of five; but since moving to Citrus County, I've tried every other place in town, and I haven't found a single one I've liked. I've always avoided this place due those reviews, so this was my last ditch effort to actually enjoy Chinese delivery. I literally spent 15 solid minutes staring at that button, though; steadily watching the estimated delivery time get later and later before I finally decided that the later it got, the less likely I'd actually get some decent food. Lo and behold, I went for it and struck gold! The price certainly made it feel like that's what I was ordering, anyway. To that extent, I do think the cost was exorbitant considering that all I ordered was two wonton soups, six egg rolls, and a quart each of pork fried rice, pork lo mein, sweet and sour chicken, steamed chicken with vegetables, and orange chicken. Until COVID, I swear I had never spent more than $6.95 on dinner combinations or $8.95 for quart-size servings, and now, everything has suddenly more than doubled. We rarely ever get to eat out anymore and this is why, because just four short years ago, this same dinner wouldn't have been but maybe $60 or $70. But, then again, the last time I ordered DoorDash, I got 4 bowls from WaWa and that was $65, so I guess it is what it is. Anyway, back to the food: IT IS DELICIOUS! Being from Fort Lauderdale, I think I might be pickier than most, but THIS is what I'm accustomed to. It tasted like "home, sweet home!" Fresh, hot, and all the portions and flavors were spot-on. So, look, I think the negative reviews probably came from people who only leave reviews when things don't go their way, or who want something for free, or even worse, the kind of people who consider Panda Express "good takeout." Yes, some of the reviews literally make that comparison. I would definitely ignore those people. I never leave reviews unless a place really knocks my socks off, and that's exactly what the people at New China did last night. I have no idea who they are and can't say anything else about them, except to say that my experience ordering from them through DoorDash here was exceptional. In a world where a couple of WaWa bowls cost half as much as a full Chinese dinner, this place is worth every penny and I will definitely order again because this is officially my new "go to." "This is the best Chinese restaurant in citrus county. The food tastes wonderful with large portions. Our food was hot and you can tell they used fresh ingredients. I will order again. My husband ordered the shrimp and veggies which had large shrimp with fresh veggies. I ordered the sesame chicken which was fresh, perfectly seasoned, and very tasty. I also ordered the chicken noodle soup. The BEST SOUP ever! Hot, perfectly seasoned and the noodles are "chef's kiss"! We love this Chinese restaurant and will never go to any other in this county."

We wished that China Gourmet would have written on the box ( that rice is usually served in) what was inside it when it is other than rice, that would have saved an embarrassing call. If they'd have used fresh ones, or stirred fresher ones at the end of making it. Those were in the "Happy Family" dish....along with more scallops. I think there were about 3 or 4 in the large order. Almost missed them! The only other thing was that there were maybe five little shrimps in a bucket of celery in another dish. Had those two items been 'switched' in number, it would have been great. The clearish, white sauce it came in was quite tasty though. Had these things been top notch, I wouldn't have had to write ALL of this stuff. But I needed to explain best I could. The remaining items -- egg rolls, egg drop soup, and house egg foo yong were pretty good. Because they deliver is a great thing too. Seems like Chinese delivery is hard to find, at least in the Homosassa FL area. The order did make it to our house hot and fast, kudos for that! "
