"Patty Melt was probably the best Patty Melt I've had in years. Burger was juicy and not overcooked. The sandwich was tasty. They included fries on the side, which I dipped in the beef gravy that accompanied s separate side or of mashed potatoes. The gravy was good, though a little bland for my taste, but was quite good after tweaking with a little thyme, garlic, onion powder and salt & pepper. The Country Fries were enjoyed, but the menu offered, among other things, biscuits as a substitution for toast for a small upcharge, which was paid. However, no biscuits werecame, and soggy toast was sent anyway. Overall, the food was quite good and good value. Will be ordering from Fairground Diner again and hoping for that most elusive of restaurant traits: consistency."
