I was expecting the California (6pcs) to have the entire exterior rolled in masago or for masago to be added on top of each one. Neither was the case. I’ve also tried their birria de res plate. I expected everything to come separate, similar to traditional Birria joints, but instead I received two greasy tacos with 1/2lb of cheese on them and very little meat tucked inside. The menu lists consume but that’s mostly a combination of flavorless rice/chickpeas in oil…not the kind of broth/consume that leaves you feeling healed/restored.
If I had to choose a highlight from the things I’ve tried it would be their vegan pinto beans and guacamole (both of which are hard to ruin). Overall, an unfortunate disappointment that I’m unlikely to revisit in the future. "
