You get both a meat sauce and large meatballs in this order. Sure it’s on the greasier side but that’s what that complimentary bread is more…soak it up! CUP OF SOUP - $3 Decided to add a cup of soup to my 2 pastas since it was only $3 in case the kids liked it. Had no idea what kind, but why not. It was really good whatever it was. It was like a potato chowder that was very thick and good for bread dipping! THAI SALAD - $24 With filet mignon, kale, avocado, mango, and housemade Thai dressing. Took a gamble on this since it’s one: a salad, and 2, sounds pretty non-Italian, haha. But it was good! The dressing was like a sweet chili sauce that was sweet and savory. The filet mignon was tender and I didn’t feel they were skimping on it. The mango was young (not ripe) and there were chuck of avocado. The only think I didn’t care for was the fried noodles. Not sure how this would look if we had ordered in, but this take-out dish was massive! We ended up with so much leftover. Pelican Pasta serves both quality and quantity and I can’t wait to dine-in!"

I typically wait to review until I've tried a new place a handful of times over at least a month or two and at least 1x in the restaurant however the pizza, Chopped Salad and homemade Ranch were so good I'm confident saying that this is the best NY style pizza and one of the very best pizza joints in the Bay Area. The chopped salad was fantastic, extremely fresh lettuces, the ceci beans (aka chickpeas), red wine vinegrette were the perfect compliment to the lovely variety of lettuces. An addition of crumbled feta cheese in lieu of the finely shaved parm would be amazing but it is delicious just as is. I typically order a small vegetarian pie for myself and a medium or large meat pie for my partner but Mama's Boy 20" pizzas are so big and filling we went for a half and half and we both had leftovers. Tip to perfectly reheat pizza, heat oven to 400F, put cast irin pan or pizza stone in oven while preheating, when tempreture is set, place pie in oven for 5 minutes & you'll have a perfectly heated slice that has a crisp not limp crust! My only complaint when ordering delivery online there isn't an option to select one of their pizza combinations as a half pie so I was instructed to select a 20" Cheese Pie and then select my desired toppings for either the 1st half, 2nd half and/or whole pie. The only down side to ordering this way is that even if you mirror each half as one of their menu item pies (i.e.veggie & supreme) the pie ends up costing substantially more than the cost of any of their menu item pies. Hopefully, this can be fixed to enable ordering of menu item pies as a 1/2 pie without paying an extra $20+ to the cost of their menu item pies. Even a $5.00 flat rate charge for a half and half order of menu item pies w be preferable. Whether eating in or ordering delivery, Mama's Boy Pizza is a must try!"
