I think they used the preserved strawberries from the strawberry topping, instead of fresh strawberries, but without any of the syrupy juice that makes the topping good. They would literally have to go through extra effort to do that. Hardly any strawberries either. Not nearly enough to go with all the pancake to warrant them being called STRAWBERRY pancakes and have that extra cost. There were NO butter packets either and the pancakes just tasted really off. The pancakes weren't overcooked themselves at all, but there were still crispy, burnt bits that I don't know where they came from. Tasted slightly like onions, a grill, or something. The pancakes even got cold a lot faster than usual. Something definitely off."
