The reason the restaurant still gets a five star rating is solely due to flavors. As stated, the mushrooms were delicious, crispy on the outside, juicy inside and if they were not so expensive, I would have ordered far more! The chicken fried steaks and chicken were great, not too much, nor too little breading. The breading was far more well seasoned than most places, no bland breading here. Lots of gravy atop the generous sized portions of meat. The potatoes and gravy were wonderfully tight real potatoes, not runny as so many places use. I had the cinnamon apples and enjoyed them thoroughly. Sons had the seasoned rice, cole slaw, and rolls and all were very pleased with their meals as well. The rolls and cornbread were generous, sons remarked on the heft of the rolls and I had my cornbread as a snack later with a bowl of milk. The salad was tasty, but the cup of soup was not soup, was actually a small cup of meaty stew with a fabulous and complex flavor. This was a splurge and rather expensive overall for a Doordash meal for our budget, but when we can afford to do Southern Recipes Grill again, we will certainly be looking forward to trying out some of their other meals! If I could give more stars... I would."

"I found this restaurant by chance on DoorDash trying to find something good to eat. I was pleasantly suprised by Grilled Pork Chops and the Chicken Fried Chicken plates!! The portion amounts were more than enough(which i love by the way!)and the Pork and chicken on both plates did have that real taste of freshness, like they literally just killed and gutted the pig and cut the Pork Chops and grilled them! They had a velvety texture and absorbed the flavorful pot likker they were simmered in. The grits were creamy and buttery, with just the right amount of coarse ground texture. They had a wonderfully corny, wholesome flavor. Everything on the plate worked together in perfect harmony. The richness of the chicken, the deep flavors of the greens, and the comforting creaminess of the grits was a match made in Southern cooking heaven. I sopped up every last drop of the pot likker with my grits to get the full experience. This was truly an exceptional example of classic down-home Southern cuisine. The chef clearly used high-quality ingredients and took the time to perfectly execute each component.
