"Plátano frito as dessert. Not what I expected or thought. Impressed and reminded how something simple is tastier than something complex. Kudos to y'all, I was reminded of my childhood.
Chilaquiles with steak. Steak was very good, salsa verde was very flavorful, no where near as spicy as I'd hope but still tasty. Chilaquiles are meant to be crunchy even when after drenched in salsa by a reasonable margin, I'm not sure why, but they were more soggy than I expected even from a delivery take out.
The huarache base was made by hand as described, they did unfortunately skimped out on the quantity of pastor on it, but not by a lot. Maybe it's their style here? Could use a bit of balancing, does not feel like much of an in house seasoning (pastor), but I could be wrong. I still ate all of it. No food should be wasted.
Horchata and Jamaica water (at least this batch) were very well balanced not overly sweet that gives that weird aftertaste.
This review is done by a Mexican who was actually born and raised there, I'm a modest food connoisseur & critic as well. (Just not profoundly professional)

"Let me start by saying I love the food at The Halal Guys so much that I ate there pretty much 4/4 nights a week for a year straight after work before trimming it back. I've never done that with any other restaurant. The gentleman I spoke to leaving the restaurant the other night said he drove 40 minutes to come enjoy the food.
All of the food is very fresh. They are always cooking fresh chicken and beef. All the veggies are a great addition to the platter along with the fresh rice that is always being replenished. The hummus is very good and when you add the chili based hot sauce and mix it up, it's heaven. For those who can't handle the heat, there's their very popular "white sauce". King of Prussia is always very busy.
Please do not let "Bobby Bobby" deter you from going to The Halal guys. He clearly doesn't understand the restaurant business......no crime. Look at his bowl. It has chicken and rice ONLY. Evidently he thinks since he is afraid of eating veggies that the rest of his bowl should be filled with extra meat. Sorry Bobby Bobby; that is not how any restaurant works. This place gives a ton of food. I rarely finish my small bowl and have never ordered a large one.
In this business you could have the best product and location but take away top notch customer service and a highly dedicated GM/owner and get ready for your "Grand Closing".
Caesar has been the GM at KOP for years now and I've never seen him have a bad day. He always has a smile on his face and treats all of his customers with the utmost respect. "Ordered a chicken cheesesteak with fried onions and green peppers. It came like this (see image attached)... very soggy, wet, and saturated. Also OVERLOADED, which is normally a good thing, but in this case was too much. I did not like that they put fried onions and green peppers on top of the sandwich compared to chopping them throughout the chicken. Onions and peppers were super slimy and left long. Chicken was really good and the roll was fresh! I just would have enjoyed it way more if it wasn't so WET and stuffed with slimy thick peppers and onions. "

"I'm not normally a fried shrimp person. I think it's almost always a waste of a way to prepare shrimp compared to any other method. But I was curious because of the reviews, so I gave it a shot.
It delivers! It's not your usual bland breading with little (if any) salt or pepper. It's well-seasoned with some cajun and citrus notes, and I swear they also infuse flavor into the shrimp. The rice and beans with gravy is GREAT. Lots of flavor in the rice and the juices. Reminds me of Gigi's back when they still ran food trucks. Portions are great especially for the price. Eight medium shrimp and they don't skimp on the sides.
Also heard great things about the whiting, but it wasn't on the menu or I would have ordered that too. I'm a sucker for good whiting I don't have to fry myself, and the way they handle their shrimp gives me hope. The rice and beans also make me want to try their jerk and pepper steak despite the ratings.
