But Ned's left it all together, then stacked it on top of our hot food, so it arrived as a melted, gooey mess that did not taste good because the cookie was soggy. "Eddie Merlot’s dishes are often about taking a good, but slightly average dish, and making it spectacular. It is a challenging undertaking often requiring bold choices. On Nov 2, the star of the show was the carrot cake. A generous slice with perfect spice and texture and none of the extra chewy or crunchy bites that can make me wince. Cream cheese frosting that can hardly be described - it is cream cheese, my head knows that. My tastebuds know it’s sweet. The only explanation I have for its seemingly superior taste is that it complements the cake between four layers - although as we ordered doordash, it came through as eight and it took us two days to get through it - as perfect on the second evening as it was on the first. The rest of the meal was between good and Very nice. The cake was a memory one can only hope to repeat one day."
