"Took a chance and tried this nice establishment, as we were in the mood for some righteous Chow Mein and Chow Fun.
It's hard to find proper Cantonese versions of both. Chow Mein is normally merely passable, with the horrid lo mein noodles raking up space in my gullet.
I was pleasantly surprised by the "craftsmanship" of both. very "wok-hei" when it arrived. Flavor was nostalgic, of SF Chinatown and the old-time Bay Area style of cooking .
The veggies were not my fave, stringy and a bit chewy, but that's ok. I just ate more noodles.
Sometimes I judge a Chinese restaurant by their tomato egg over rice dish. Not bad. A little salty, but it's ok, I just ate more noodles.
Overall, well done, Top Cafe. We'll be back.

"I recently placed a 5-star review for the Koi Palace on Kurtner Ave. Unfortunately, I cannot say the same for this location. For the most part, it was good. But I had to take off a star for the packaging. This location uses plastic "clamshell" containers. The other location uses reinforced paper containers that have very secure lids.
The 204. Shanghai Dumplings 上海小籠包 , 221. Shrimp Dumplings 蝦餃 , and 234. Sticky Rice in Lotus Leaf Wrap 粒粒瑤柱糯米雞 , were all very good. Large dumplings, stuffed with well-seasoned fillings. However, the 665 Chinese Broccoli w/ Oyster Sauce 蠔油唐芥蘭 was disappointing. The other location adds garlic which makes it much more flavorful.
Overall, the food was delicious, but this location will be my second choice."

I ordered the YELLOW CURRY which was not too spicy for me. if you like spicy, you will need to tell them spicy. it doesn't come with rice, unusual, but they clearly stated it, so I ordered some. Delicious! I also ordered PAD SEE EW which was SO GOOD. I like to put a little Peanut Sauce on it. I only wish I was hungrier to eat more of it.
