"Lao Der is not shy when it comes to heat. When you ask for extra spicy, it's actually spicy. I don't know how much I can stress that, all places I go when I ask for extra spicy, it is never satisfying. Although it can get pricey (sticky rice, khao soy), this is my to go place when I want raw beef laab (Beef Tartare). I absolutely love the bamboo soup, although I had better. It is so rare to find, so this is actually perfect when you're too lazy to make it. oh, did I forget the chicken feet! Would love it even more if it is mixed with papaya sauce instead. "The portions are ridiculously small. The sticky rice was $5 and the tri-tip was $17. The sticky rice was about the size of my palm (I'm fairly petite-5 feet) so hopefully that explains how small the portion of sticky rice we got. The tri-tip was okay.
