The sauce was thick and had a pleasant sweetness to it. The chicken was cooked perfectly! My husband had the Goan shrimp. he loves spice so he sat there and ate it while sweating and mouth on fire! "As soon as I opened the package, I was greeted with an unexpected wonderful familiar aroma…wow…it was an initial reminder of why I ordered from here in the first place; and then as soon I began indulging in the meal, the two Ghee Pongal (really Ghee Khichari), and the Sambhar that accompanied, I was internally saying thank you to God and the person who made it and sent it. What a pleasant meal. Just what I needed. And definitely made earlier with love and care.
P.S. it catered to almost all my requests/notes (i.e. no onion/garlic, no refined oil, made in ghee, mild spice, less salt). It added to the smile (already there post meditation on the amazing Sattva app). And the medley of spices in the Sambhar were a perfect accompaniment with the requested milder Ghee Khichari/Pongal. It was calling for Idlis that I am sure to consider ordering next time.
When given enough advanced notice, Kapisa Cafe has been very responsive and accommodating of all needs. What a Gem!
Further feedback for improvement (this applies to all Indian restaurants really): It’s time we started using more compostable containers for take out; better for us and better for the planet.
