"I used to order several times a week, and loved this place. It was one of the very few places that are open late around me. But there's way too many issues now. They forget my horchata, very often. Last time I ordered, my rice and beans was missing, and my horchata was missing. Plus, the container of guacamole I paid extra for was only half filled and browning. The cheese on the taquitos is just thrown on every single time, and doesn't even melt on the taquitos evenly whatsoever. It's actually comical sometimes how messily it's thrown together. Also, even when they remember to include my rice and beans, it's thrown on top of everything, super messy. Just like the cheese. And all the missing items. The attention to detail is just not there. I used to be a fan but I probably will not be ordering here again. And the taquitos are the only affordable item on the menu. The rest is horribly overpriced. A side of plain tortilla chips is $5? "They did this right. I wish I could post pictures of they way the taco was packed, the big bag of chips, the salsa, but mostly the pozole. "I really want to give an amazing rating because I've been frequenting Ricardo's for so many years, but it's just not the same. Sizzling Fajitas Especiales here are just not it. It's an "expensive" plate yet the least quality of food products and overall bland. Also, not allowing to modify a dish that is modifiable in the restaurant sucks! I'm a veggie person, but I do not love onions. In fact, I despise them. Most of the plate is onions. I added pre and post onion removal photos to show just how much. The peppers are never cooked enough, and most of the plate is onions. Sorry to leave a negative review, hopefully they change that. Husband says the California Burrito Special is good."

Everything is clearly homemade, the food looks and tastes a lot cleaner than other Mexican restaurants and you can tell that they use high quality fresh ingredients. The prices are awesome given the quality of the food. The meat is always perfect, no weird pieces. I always get the carnitas burrito with green sauce and the crispy chicken taco plate. It's a lot of food, but I finish both every time because it's so good. For the tacos, they fry the tortilla with the chicken inside, and it turns out awesome. The cheese is great quality, even the lettuce is greener and fresher than other Mexican places. Fresh homemade salsa on top of course. The taco plate comes with beans and rice. Pinto and black beans are both really good, but I always get the black beans and put some on each bite of my carnitas burrito. The carnitas burrito has a ton of meat, so I like adding the extra beans. It comes with meat, black beans, and rice inside with melted cheese and really good green sauce on top. You can get it with red sauce, but the green is my favorite. I've had the tamales, chile relleno, carnitas olamendis, floutas, carne asada and other things here as well and they're all really good, but I've been hooked on my carnitas burrito and crispy chicken tacos for 15 years (maybe more). FYI: They have the best lemonade I've ever had. It has a lot of oranges in it, and this is the only place I ever order lemonade with my meal. They have a super tasty cantaloupe juice as well.
