"This is my second time ordering from the Cactua Bar restaurant, and this time, I have a rather glowing review. My first order with this restaurant was iffy at most, with the frankly offputting combination of salmon in a spicy quesadilla. However, I chose to not let my first order become my entire view of this facility, and this order has certainly proven that decision to be worth it. I ordered their Chicken Tenders entree, with the Side Macroni and cheese that I exclaimed in my previous review to be possibly the best restaurant made macaroni and cheese I've ever had, and for my dessert and drink I chose a slice of Cheesecake and a mango Smoothies. The chicken Tenders did not disappoint in the slightest. Perfectly crunchy and crispy, with the chicken inside still steaming and juicy even after a 20 minute ride from the Bar to my Belly. My only complaint, if you can call it one, was that the ranch sauce was quite runny and made for a messy dipping experience. Easily solved with napkins or a thicker recipe for ranch. My side dish, macaronu and cheese, was exactly the same as I remember. Extremely creamy, cheesy goodness with perfect al dente pasta of what appeared to be shells. The dessert of Cheesecake was delightful, with only a moderately overpowering flavor, but I will admit that it was quite sweet. Could be my taste buds, I don't know. Regardless, was creamy, I could taste the crust through the cheese, and it was very filling. My biggest complaint about my order this time around isn't to do with the entree like my last order was. It's the drink. Don't get me wrong, the drink I had, a mango smoothie, was tasty, but once again it was more akin to a melting slushy than a smoothie, and with absolutely no fruit pulp as I'd expected and hoped for. Admittedly, I'm curious if this was ever a smoothie or just frozen artificial mango juice, but regardless I'm not irreparably disappointed. Great food, great dessert, amazing side. Like my last order, I will put this restaurant on a bi-monthly order basis, meaning that's about how often you want to order from here with the price tag this place boasts."

"Amazing!!! The steak Beef Kabob was incredibly tender and flavorful, the Chicken Shawarma was a combination of savory and fresh, and the Hummus was the perfect accompaniment to both dishes. This dinner far exceeded my expectations and I'm already planning on my next future order......chicken shawarma bowl and the kale salad. "The special omelette, I chose carnitas, is phenomenal with a surprising amount of grilled veggies and tons of cheese. It's very balanced not too much of anything and it felt healthy due to the crisp green peppers inside and the freshly prepared pico and shredded lettuce on top. The carnitas is tender and well seasoned but not a huge amount inside the omelette which I liked. The jalapeños weren't overly added which also added to the balance of flavors. I wolfed this down and I'm real picky, just a great omelette with fluffy rice and refried beans that arent overly processed or salty. The verde chilaquiles had perfect sunny side up eggs with tangy spicy green sauce. The warm flour tortillas served with both meals tasted homemade. My hubby stated that he'd order the special omelette next time though but I really like the spicy salsa verde on his dish. I also prefer the salsa verde to the red hot sauce although not as spicy as the red it's got perfect tangy flavor so be sure to request the green hot sauce. We both loved the creminess of the sour cream given on the side as well. I'm from San Diego and I'm always afraid to try new Mexican food restaurants but I highly recommend this Castañeda's and the special omelette is a must order if you want a good healthy egg breakfast YUMMY!
